“I always thought my first boyfriend would be Jake. But I never thought it would only be pretend….” Lexie has always had a crush on Jake and the relationship isn’t going anywhere! But when the teen queen Bree starts to gain an interest on Jake he has to find a way to turn her down, without making the most popular girl in school angry and making his own reputation horrible that is. So a plan has been set, Lexie can be Jake’s pretend girlfriend. The thing is Lexie has never had a boyfriend before and how can she convince everyone that she’s Jake’s girlfriend when she herself has never had one before but can she also convince Jake that they are more than just pretend girlfriend and boyfriends? Imagine having your long time crush become your boyfriend even if it’s only pretend, wouldn’t that be a dream come true. For Lexie it was exactly it but she wants to take the pretend relationship to the next level and turn it into something more, way more. This book was deeply imagined by Tamara Summers, it was an amazing piece of realistic masterpiece from the very first word up until the last. This novel will create a beautiful vivid image in your mind that questions you about the relationships around you. Beautiful, the relationships will feel so real, amazingly. I love this novel from the beginning to the end. It is a novel for self enjoyment and is a perfect read when sitting on a chair, sipping an ice cold drink on a warm summer. It will leave readers with a story and character that you will never forget and an ending that will satisfy readers of all ages. Amazed, this book will capture you, deeply.
Wow... this was one of the most beautiful and sweet books ever read! I loved it! Even though, I admit, the beginning didn't sound very promising. But after a little while it started to grow on me. And I ended up loving every moment. Lexie and Jake were just so cute together! I loved the way he treated her, like a Princess! So caring, always one her side, trusting her, defending her, admitting before others that he found her the most beautiful girl. Always praising her for anything she did, even though she wasn't very good at it. And I liked that he was jealous and didn't mind showing it. Showing anyone that Lexie was his. Super sweet! I hated Riley, he gave me the creeps! And Bree was so hateful and mean! What a witch! Sally was okay. Very sweet and nice. Couldn't understand how she could have been friends with Bree in the first place. Colin was okay too. Although, being Lexie's twin, I would have expected more sympathy toward her, when she needed him. But in the end he also kind of helped her in his own way. That was sweet what he did and showed her. I wonder if there willl ever be another book featuring Colin and... Hmmm....
Anyway... This book was totally gorgeous! I couldn't put it down! Couldn't stop reading! Even though my eyelids threatened to shut down for tiredness, I still felt electrified inside. And too curious to see what would happen next. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the slow start, but surely it could have deserved a higher rate! And it sure goes straight to my "Favorites" shelf!
Still my favorite. Now , I realize not everyone can read other people feelings. So it is logic if the main female character have a mixed feelings about the main mle character feelings towards her. But, it was absolutely adorable!
If I read this a couple of years ago it would be one of my favvvvvv books but I think I might be too old for it now. That's not to say I don't think this was completely adorable. Sweet like a mini cupcake. As PG-13 as it can get

Lexie this is what you've been dreaming about. Correction: This is a strange parody of what you've been dreaming about.
LOL. So true! This was surprisingly good. I really really liked it. I laughed and I thought it was quirky. And surprise surprise, the banter is excellent. It's a sweet friends-to-lovers story with just the right amounts of drama, mystery and friendship.
Lexie and her best friend and twin Colin are a bookish and shy but adorable pair. Their friend Jake is the school hottie who is equally quirky. The bad guy Bree, is comically evil. She's an obnoxious man-eater and, wait for it, doesn't like orphans. At least her minion Sally, isn't so terrible. I liked that Sally actually befriended Lexie.
Jake and Lexie are very cute together. And it was nice to see them dating after pretending to be just friends for so long. But Lexie is pretty much cute with everyone. I loved how her and Colin jibed together with their twin thing and how she and Sally are girlish together. On a random note, the pugs are really cute. Overall a really fun summer read!
OK so I found this book on the plane. I was almost done with the book I was reading, so I needed another to keep me occupied by the pool. I hadn't read young-adult fiction, since well, I was one. They are fun, easy going, and don't take much concentration, which is always a nice relief. Especially because most of the time I am not just sitting down to read a book. Usually I am reading a few pages at a time. This book was cute, and makes you smile, and for me brought me back to camp and a more worry-free life. No complaints.
He’s With Me could be the cutest book ever! Any book that can say dork, dagnabbit, and holy smokes gets my vote for the most adorable book! It made me smile all day long! :)
Why was this the cutest thing I've ever read??? I randomly found this book while cleaning one day and started reading it. It truly brought me back to middle school when I bought this and only this book at a Scholastic book fair.
The characters were juvenile and made dumb decisions, but it was honestly understandable since they're only 15. But all in all, this was a lot of fun and very sweet
Honestly I said this was my favorite book for so long. It’s just so cute. Yeah it’s your typical cheesy stuff that probably would never happen. But I don’t care, it’s cute and happy.
**Tamara Summers’ He’s with Me is a sensational book that’ll make reading amusing. Lexie is the normal, average teenage girl and Jake is the adorable guy every girl eventually falls in love with. Apparently, Lexie is one of those girls. Although she is, she isn’t invisible to Jake and she can thank her twin brother, Colin for that. He’s with Me’s plot allows most teens to be able to relate to, the detail the author provides allows you to have a movie version of the book played in your head and the book has many themes.
He's With Me is a “realistic” fiction and romantic genre. It really is realistic because it might even happen to you. There’s that superb guy, Jack, everyone wants to be with. Surprisingly, Jake isn’t like the others in movies and books because he doesn’t want to be with the popular, attractive and big-headed girl, Bree. In addition, the dialog between the characters, Lexie, Jake, Bree and others helps you understand their relationship more which will help you imagine them as realistic people or people that you can relate them to. For example, the stuck-up girl no one really likes because she takes advantage of people, Bree could be related to a girl you dislike.
In addition, Tamara Summers details in the book, He’s with Me, allow you to visualize all the plots. It’s like a voluminous T.V. screen in your head, just like how it would be in a movie theater. Being able to envision all the characters actions and how they look is one of the many powerful writing skills that Tamara Summers have. It’s like you’re actually there, inside the book, seeing everything happening. You, the reader, find yourself in a whole new dimension created by Summers.
Not only does the author of Save the Date and Never Bite a boy on the First Date, Tamara Summers, make it easier to have a movie version in your head but He’s with Me also has many themes you’ll want to keep in mind. One of the many themes is to like someone for who they are and not what they are, which can sometimes be a little hard. The author illustrates this theme in the book through the character’s actions. Likewise, the author’s character development gives people thoughts and emotions of what’s happening and what will happen. Another theme in the book is, the one you like could be standing right in front of you. Lexie has always liked Jake but he is constantly with other girls or has girl problems. Little does she know that it’s because of all those other girls that she and Jake will eventually be together.
He’s with Me is an amazing book that teens will find easy to relate to, which will allow them to enjoy this book. Plus the stunning details Tamara Summers combines with the dialog into the book allow the readers to have a splendid visual inside their minds. The plot of the book has themes that readers will be able to pull out from the book and easy to comprehend. Tamara Summers’ writing will always be a joy to read.
Do you love romance books? If you do then you’ll love this book.
Lexie and her twin brother Colin have been friends with Jake, a cute boy that likes to read books and it is not like every guy, since the first time they met him in school. Lexie tells Colin everything about her and vice versa, but what Colin doesn’t know is that Lexie is in love with Jake. One day, Bree, the most popular girl in school, asks Jake out. Jake doesn’t want to date her, but if he tells her that, Bree will make his life impossible. Jake went and told Lexie and Colin about his problem. They don’t know what to do, but then Colin comes up with an idea – Why don’t Lexie pretends to be Jake’s girlfriend so Bree won’t make Jake’s life impossible for not wanting to date her? Jake thinks it is a good idea, but Lexie doesn’t want her first boyfriend to be a fake one. Finally Lexie accepts. As the time passes, Jake it’s starting to act like he likes Lexie, but Lexie doesn’t know if he is pretending because of Bree, or if he really likes her. Will Lexie take a risk and tell Jake her feelings and that she wants him to be her real boyfriend, or will she never tell him and go back to normal?
I feel like I know all the characters in real life. They all have normal problems like every teenager and they do all the things teenagers do, like going to the movies, going to summer camp, etc. Also they are believable because they have love problems just like everyone does. Author Tamara Summers did a pretty good job describing them and making them realistic. Every time I began to read I couldn’t stop reading. I wanted so badly for Lexie and Jake to start dating in real life, not just pretending. I like the way author Tamara Summers wrote this book. She uses a lot of dialogue and that helps the readers to not get bored. Also she doesn’t describe the thoughts of all the characters, but it is still very predictable to know what they are thinking. I love the idea that Summers uses places everyone goes too. That helps a lot to believe you are there with the characters. Also Summers keeps you in suspense, you won’t be able to expect what mean things Bree would do to make Lexie’s life miserable. He’s With Me made me want to have a relationship like the one Lexie and Jake have. He’s With Me sends a message about love and honesty because their relationship was better when they were both lying. I would recommend this book to readers that like Sarah Dessen’s books. This book will keep you reading and you won’t get bored. You will want to take it with you anywhere to keep on reading. Five out of five stars.
Okay I'm really confused. On the one hand this book was super duper cliche, full of cheese and fluff and Jake and Lexi were kinda cute. But then on the other hand, all of that was why I couldn't like it as much as I wanted.
SO MANY TIMES I WAS LIKE 'HE'S GONNA DO THE THING...' and then lo and behold THEY DID THE T H I N G and I was just like -throws up hands and bangs head on table because it's full of fluff but so nauseating at the same time-
Just by 'chance' her twin bro Colin is like hey so sis why don't you and my best friend who you've had a crush on since you first laid eyes on him pretend to date so the popular girl that Jake doesn't want to date can see that someone else is with Jake and not her. And Jake is like sweet okay and so Lexi is like alright fine sweet 20r454385u45u4385743587 points to me.
I mean, these kids are 15 and it's like they have SOOOO much drama-llama that is like 'the end of the world is coming'!!! Lexi's mum bought her a nice bikini that OBVIOUSSLLLYYY she would have suited because she has 'curves' that most of her friends don't have. And so because Lexi is Lexi, she never wears this bikini (that if she had have worn on the first day of summer camp then Jake would have been like hhhheelloooo now you're not my fake girlfriend anymore) and instead wears this black swimming costume that popular girl Bree is like lol you have no style let me steal your swimming costume so I can humiliate you and then it will be your fault that yours and Jake's team loose mWAHAHAHAHHA.
Don't get me wrong. Jake was sweet, and a bit stupid, but still super adorable. I only wish my fantasy of my crush for three years coming to my house whilst I'm out to walk the dogs and then we go to the park and he hands me a paper origami whale that says will you be my girlfriend becomes NOT JUST A FANTASY BUT REAL LIFE BECAUSE I HAD TO LIE TO POPULAR GIRL ABOUT HOW ME AND MY CRUSH GOT TOGETHER SO I HAD TO SAY MY FANTASY BUT MY CRUSH WAS RIGHT THERE TOO AND SO KEEPS IT IN MY MIND FOR TWO WEEKS LATER WHEN HE DOES THE THING AND HANDS HER A PAPER ORIGAMI WHALE THAT SAYS WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND FOR REAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
He did the thing and I still don't know if I want to laugh at how funny it was or be like omg that's sweet I wish I was 15 so I could read this and be like sigh can this happen to me.
This was SOOOO cute and got me grinning like an idiot. This was very fluffy and a real light read when you just want something sweet and simple. It's not saccharine and is kinda cliché but, again, a good book anyways and doesn't annoy you with the stereotypes like other books do. It was also really funny and you relate to the characters too. The thing that cracked me up most was the first sentence in the book. "Lexie Willis hated bikinis." Now that you have read this, look at the top left of the cover. Yeah.
I read this when I was 12 years old. I'm 23 now. I have such a distinct memory of reading this for the first time and being absolutely OBSESSED with everything about it. It is so teeny and CUTE. MY GOODNESS.
I don't even think it's in print anymore but I will never, ever part with my copy. If anything I want to collect the rest.
I was really into this book. I was reading it ALL the time. If I was reading it and someone startung talking to me, I wouldn't even hear them becuase I was in the room with them. I was with the characters in the story. Any book that can do that to me, is a good book!
Just found three of these I heart Bikinis novels in my bookshelf and omg I read these up and down when I was 11, like actually obsessed. Will I reread them? No. I’m not gonna ruin the magic 11 year old me experienced. Thank you scholastic book fair.
