From runways to department stores, lace is everywhere and knitters are picking up their needles to chase the trend. The gorgeous Lace Style eBook takes a fresh approach to a classic theme by combining solid techniques with 20+ contemporary, lace projects.
Following the success of Scarf Style and Wrap Style—with more than 100,000 copies sold - we've selected a stunning collection of quick knits that take a modern twist on a traditional pattern. Accomplished designers including Veronik Avery, Norah Gaughan, Annie Modesitt, Shirley Paden and Michele Rose Orne will inspire with patterns ranging from scarves, shawls, hats, sweaters, dresses, and more.
Revel in ways to use lace as all-over patterns, trims and edgings, and inserts. Innovative designs include a lace pattern typically used for baby wear boldly translated into a striking woman's scalloped jacket, a delicate lace edging used to accent a featherlight lingerie dress, a chic skirt made lacy with intentionally dropped stitches, a wide-brim garden hat with a decidedly vintage feel, a sophisticated bracelet knitted from fine silver wire, and much more.
Each pattern has detailed step-by-step instructions and lavish lifestyle photographs with plenty of detail shots to keep readers inspired. A special design chapter demystifies the elements of knitted lace, and details several ways to achieve lacy effects. It also provides key pointers on how to incorporate lace motifs into other patterns and tips to ensure success.
Whether you're an experienced knitter looking for inspiration or a beginner trying lace knitting for the first time, the Lace Style eBook has everything you need to knit lace with confidence and convenience.

Trendy knits for skinny Lizzies. I am a keen knitter and particularly enjoy lace knitting. I was very disappointed with this book because in my opinion, the majority of the designs are not really geared to anyone over the age of 25 - and are certainly not designed for anyone with any curves. There are some pretty garments and some nice gift ideas, lacy collars and cuffs for example, but nothing that really made me want to reach for my needles.
This is probably my favorite from Interweave Knits "Style" series of knitting books. The patterns in here are all rather feminine and a bit complex, even if it's only at a hem. There are four garments that I've flagged to get on my needle. Photography is good as is the page design. The last section of the book, Design Notebook, is a great resource for how-to. I think I get to keep this one on my bookshelves as I begin to edit them down.
I bought this book because I loved Color Style so I thought that the other books in this series would also be in this style, but I was wrong. This is a well made book with lots of pictures and explications for making lacy knitted items. I just wouldn't make any of the big projects because I don't like shrugs or see through clothing, although the hat is really cute, but not practical. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone except to perhaps complete the series in your library. 160 pages and bought new 2 stars
Beautiful stuff in here! Originally i borrowed the book via book swim, and a few days after receiving it purchased a copy. This all started with a need to make the featherweight lingerie dress. From flipping through the book i know have enough desired lace knitting patterns to keep me busy throughout 2010, easily ; ) Beautiful pictures and clear instructions. Awesome garments inside:
* featherweight lingerie dress * lace edged corset * katharine hepburn cardigan * show-off ruffle skirt * greta garbo garden hat * shetland shawl turned vest (a cute layering cami)
There were some really cool patterns in this book. I fell in love with a couple of the pieces, especially, "The Point About Cuffs," "Tailored Scallops," and I completely loved "Never Wimpy Wimple" - that was my favorite. There was an excellent assortment of pictures for every pattern and I liked the multitude of pieces and styles. I would recommend this book.
I checked this out from the library in the hopes of countering my pathological fear of lace. Some of these designs require a far longer attention span than I'm willing to give to a knitting project, but there are a couple that I do plan to knit.
Beautiful OldShale cardigan. Good bit on understanding lace. Leg warmer pattern is pretty(braid & zigzag). I have made the lace/solid 2layer hat in burgundy over orange--love it! Gorgeous Nancy Bush Lily of the Valley shawl (4oz lace yarn on sz6 needles).
I have only made The point about Cuffs from this one and there are a few more in the queue: the essential tank Lily of the valley stole Katherine Hepburn cardigan lace edged corset
The cuff pattern is for a large hand so you may not need to make either section as long as the pattern.
I love the "Never Wimpy Wimple" and Annie Modesitt's "Sterling and Crystal Cuff" patterns, but have not yet made either of them. I'm not a big fan of lace in general, though. If you are, read others' reviews. I'm just not that knowledgable about lace.
A great variety of lace patterns in easily comprehended patterns. Charted. Good patterns for those of us too lazy, or not motivated enough to think up lace on our own.
I got this book for the jewelry knitting it contained (a beautiful sterling silver bracelet). I will keep it around for other lovely patterns that I want to try and the great lace inspiration.
