A lucid and original account of where money comes from and why most people and businesses are so heavily in debt. It explodes more myths than any other book this century, yet it's all about subjects very close to mortgages, building societies and banks, agriculture, transport, global poverty, and what's on the supermarket shelf. The author proposes a new mechanism for the supply of money, creating a supportive financial environment and a decreasing reliance on debt.
One of the most doomer books I've read, just goes on and on about how absurd the money system is. Incredibly thoroughly researched, even though it was published 20 years ago, still very very relevant today
Truly - if you want to know why the work is in such a mess, this book will explain why. Fundamentally it explains why at the heart of capitalism there is a flaw and it is driving the entire globe as a result. A well researched and well written and accessible book.
A very good read, explains quite thoroughly how the debt based society works... Advocates some sound ideas on how to improve on the system we currently have...
