She has successfully let that love go in order to relish in the joy of her first born child. Now Tricey introduces readers to Blood, a past love interest transformed into one of the West Side's biggest drug lords. Being a pregnant single mother has left Latrice lonely and in need. Blood fills that gap with endless possibilities of money, gifts, and companionship. However, her mind is so busy with the arrival of her new baby and its absentee father that she doesn't see herself being tangled into Blood's web of drug deals, robberies, murder, and criminal investigation. Though usually disloyal to her lovers, Lyric has been committed for the past few months; to a couple, Jelani and Evette. As their girlfriend, she's managed to fill her life with passion and sex rather than the sadness that the dramatic end of her engagement brings. Finally, Victoria has found an emotional connection that isn't attached to a penis. With the help of her co-worker, Lynn, Victoria has found help that no physical man or doctor could supply. Victoria has now replaced ignoring her emotional instabilities with handing them over to God for Him to mend. Yet, no hymn or prayer can keep her from denying the irrefutable love and lust that she still feels for her child's father, Taij. As Lyric learns that not everyone takes lightly to her habits of infidelity and discovers the tangled web she's woven, Latrice attempts to dodge the Feds and bullets along with Blood while figuring out when is a good time to reveal to Amiel the child that he and his wife know nothing about. In the mean time, Vic struggles with the realization that it's okay to make exceptions for exceptional men.
Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

Two thumbs up for Watkins’s Love Hangover! The author writes from the perspective of four intelligent women: Lyric, Victoria, Latrice, and Lynn. The women are torn by relationships, past hurts, and criminal activity.
Latrice, pregnant with a married man’s child, is forced to deal with the complications of her live-in ex-beau Nate, a drug dealer, her emotional torment involving the father of her child, and the tense relationship between her friends Lyric and Victoria. Lynn is on the verge of exiting her monotonous, 10-year marriage, while being swept off her feet by her lover, Ray. Lynn battles with the guilt of adultery and neglecting her motherly duties. Victoria is forced to deal with skeletons of her past, including sexual betrayal by her father and ex-boyfriend. Finally, Lyric finds herself trapped in a fatal attraction, ménage a trios with a married couple. Her bisexual lifestyle opens her eyes to the void in her heart.
Watkins does an excellent job using dialogue to create an action-packed novel that I did not want to put done. There were times when the character’s voice was not unique or prominent enough to separate one character from the next. I found myself looking back at the beginning of the chapter or section a few times to determine whose story I was reading. Also, Lynn’s story seemed to be lacking, as far as frequency, until the middle of the book.
This is the fifth volume in the Jessica Watkins series. Though it is the first I’ve read, I look forward to the opportunity to catch up and read future works.
I fell in love with blood i pray he isn’t dead. Poor Vic, she need to let go of her baby daddy taij and be thankful that he is still being a great provider for DeSire. Lyric a lil sex freak ain’t she. She like to have more than 2 partners she just ain’t faced her truth yet. Trice got a whole loooott going on with Amiel and Blood.
Ohhhh this book right here 😯😯😯😯😯 just when you think you know what’s about to happen something different happens ! Great read make sure to get some popcorn cause its drama baby !!!!
In the fifth volume of the Epitome of Femistry series, Love Hangover, by Jessica N. Watkins, readers pick back up with Latrice, Victoria, and Lyric. These three women find themselves in unnecessary situations.
Latrice is finally over her ex-boyfriend, Amiel, and ready to raise their unborn child. Latrice meets Blood, a drug lord who alleviates her fears of being a single mother. Blood provides Latrice with everything she needs. However, Latrice is so preoccupied with becoming a new mother that she does not realize being with Blood could place her in some questionable situations.

Victoria claims she has completely given up on love but will not admit that she is in a continuous battle with her feelings for her daughter’s father. Victoria turns to a co-worker for help to find a way to mend her heart.
Lyric loves to have sex and has no problem fulfilling her needs. Lyric becomes involved in a sexual relationship with a married couple to overcome her issues from a failed engagement. The demands from the relationship start to become overwhelming and Lyric finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. Lynn is a co-worker of Victoria’s that is unhappy in her marriage. Lynn needs an outlet and finds one that will change her life, forcing her to make a hard decision.
Love Hangover is a page-turning book of entertainment and frustration. The characters in this book had me on the edge of my seat anticipating their next move. The book was full of suspense, drama, and had me wanting to smack someone. This book frustrated me because I cannot believe the author left me hanging. I cannot wait to read volume six in this series to find out what happens next. I definitely recommend Love Hangover to others.

3 words: Real Life Read! This is a series that will take you through some real life situations and leave you hanging on the edge of your seat. This book is so real that you can literally identify the characters with someone you know, have known, or have heard about. The issues, the situations, and the triumphs of each character keeps you turning the pages even when you KNOW you need to put the book down! Two thumbs up for Love Hangover!!!
Love Hangover was definitely an attention grabber and not a dull moment existed. I still couldn't believe how LaTrice put herself in danger like that which led me to believe that she had some feelings for Blood after all. Lyric just keeps messing up all around. I hope she has really learned her lesson. I am hoping that Victoria learns to let love find her and that it is okay to forgive her father. She doesn't have to forget.
Love Hangover was a good read continuing with the drama in the girls lives. Lyric's love life again experiences turmoil & confusion....Vic realizes she needs mental help as dad resurfaces; she also still misses Taij....Tricey experiences violence & gets assistance from a surprise person. Storyline remains interesting.
Whew! Love reading about the beasties love lives. Tricey o/ is getting raunchy with her bisexual married lovers. Looks like Jalani is falling for her hard. And his wife Emery does not seem to mind. Because now she has Bird sexing her.
