What is poop? Does everyone do it? And where does it all go? Children can lift the flaps to find the answers in this surprisingly charming book, and discover how much poop an elephant does, and what you can do with poop... There's even a Who did these poops? quiz. A very informative little book!

Kuopus sai tämän kirjan joululahjaksi. Tätä onkin luettu viimeinen puoli vuotta useasti, hyvin useasti. Tutki! Kakkaa sattuu lukeutumaan lapseni yhdeksi suosikkikirjaksi. Osa luukuista on jo hieman kärsineitä, koska lapsi haluaa lukea kirjaa myös ominpäin.
Mielenkiintoista nippelitietoa kakasta, wc-sanojen lallattelun tarve häviää kun iskee tietoa kehiin.
For all the "poop lovers" in the world this one is for you, no matter how old are you. So funny yet so informative and educational from young age. "Poop lovers" are for me people that can talk about it like it's not a big deal because it is such a normal thing, like breathing. You just need to do it to stay alive so just do it.
Bought this for my boyfriend as a joke for Valentine's Day and it was super funny, not to mention clever, artistic and genuinely educational. We both learnt something from this awesome little book.
Kuopus, 4 vee, on ehtinyt siihen ikään. Siihen, jossa kakkajutut kiinnostavat niin paljon, että päivääkään ei taida kulua ilman "kakka-pissa-pieru-hihihii!"-rallattelua. Huoh.
Mikä neuvoksi? No kirjastoreissupa tietenkin.
Tutki!
Hands-down the best lift the flap book I’ve ever seen! What is poop is funny, fun and educational all at the same time. I bought it for my granddaughter who is six, but I’ve read it more than once, my husband has read it and my adult sons have read it haha! I had no idea that a blue whales poop was pink… Did you? In the words of my granddaughter “this book is amazing! Disgusting, but amazing!”
Do I love reading this book? Nope. Does it kind of ick me out? Yep. Does that matter? Nope.
This book is not for me! It's for little ones fascinated by poop, which is normal. It provides good information in an interesting, tactile way. My child loves it. And now I know wombat poop is square. So I keep my shudders on the inside and join my little one in delighting about poop.
As soon as I saw the title, I knew I had to get it for my boys (1.5 and 4). They love poop and think it's hilarious to talk about. The grandparents didn't care for the book cuz they thought it was crass, but I think it's an ingenious nonfiction board book. The lift the flaps are fun for younger toddlers and the weird facts are fun for preschoolers. Probably best for ages 3-6 (just cuz there is a decent amount of text), but definitely fine for a little younger (flaps are proving resilient so far)
Had the most hilarious time reading this with my kindergarten students. They started laughing so much I started laughing, books about 💩 are always good for a laugh. Great little lift the flap book that answer a lot of questions about poop in a fun way with super cute illustrations 👍🏼
Bought as an aid to encouraging defecation into the big, scary porcelain throne (incidentally, I'm accepting advice on this front. We're happy with wee, but scared to plop). Very much appreciated the, um, accurate illustrations of fecal matter, though found that to be rather unpalatable over breakfast coffee. Helpful for the intended audience, though, no doubt.
You can follow the flushed poop and wee down through the pipes and sewers and sewage treatment facility. Hopefully this demystification of the toilet proves helpful - will update (combined this with the truly excellent Lift-the-Flap Very First Questions and Answers: What's Inside Me?, showing egress of a turd from intestine to bowels (the entire process of ingestion, digestion, and defecation of an apple is outlined), and even the gut flora (bacteria) producing gas as a by-product of fermentation... all kinds of questions getting answered, with cheerful illustrations in support).
Also - cuboidal wombat crap, the 'attractive' toffee-like turds of the goat (not the first time I've heard that - I don't agree), a bunny eating its own poo (okay, I do have a problem with this - look up caecotropes/cecotropes vs. rabbit pellets, and you'll see the issue. Bunnies only eat their own, finished, final waste products if there's some sort of nutritional deprivation/desperation at play), a hippo scattering its shit (there's a great video on YouTube - search 'hippo fart'. Gets me every time!), and a wheelbarrow full of elephant dung. Scatological representation and entertainment for all!
I have to reco this book. My 4 year old is obsessed. The book has fun poop facts and normalizes poop. So many potty training books don’t even show the poop or pee? And when you think about it, that’s so odd, and sort of builds in this shame or discretion that just isn’t natural to young children. The book explains that everyone poops, and the lift the flaps reveal…. Poop. Dog poop, bird poop, caterpillars that look like poop. It also explains how the sewers work. Very good book!
“What is Poop?” is a very educational book that teaches kids that poop is something everybody does and that it is a mixture of food the body does not use, dead cells, and germs. The book shows where poop goes after you flush it and what it can be used for in the end. The book also depicts various animal poop and tells how to spot it and different types. Poop can be different colors based on what has been eaten. There is so much in this short little book, but very educational.
My kiddo and I both loved this book! He is only a year old and has no idea what it's about, but loved playing with the flaps! I think he will enjoy it even more when he is older and can comprehend it. I was really impressed with how much information was in it - this is not just a funny, goofy book about poop! It is surprisingly educational!
Sometimes adults don't have all the answers. The series is a a great way to introduce tricky topics to very young minds. My nephew enjoyed the book during his potty training period and his older sibling enjoyed learning some poo related facts like whales apparently have pink/red poo because of their diet of krill.
"The makeup of whale faeces depends a lot on the individual whale responsible, and its diet, says Roman. If the whale feeds on krill, its poo tends to be in the form of red or pink logs about the size of a fist. But if they’re feeding on fish, it’s diffuse and a dark green, about the size of a research vessel, he says."
This books is delightful but the illustrations are not for the squeamish. I loved the little poo logs floating downs the sewer pipes and piles of hot dog, poo on the ground but some folks might gag :) The information about poo is well-presented for little thinker to ponder on - scientific accuracy always gets many stars in my books. All in all, a good read and a often-requested reread.
Great information! Fun facts about animals and their poo and poo habits. Picked this up to entertain my potty training 2 year old. I think I enjoyed it even more than my kiddo 🤣 Fantastic, humorous illustrations! A great read for any age.
I love educational books for kids that really get them interested and I know this book is one of them. I know it will be great for potty training and the information is presented in such a cute way.
Hieno luukkutietokirja siitä itsestään eli kakasta. Hauskoja tietoiskuja ja vaikka tämä kiinnostaa taaperoa jo nyt, niin veikkaan olevan hittikamaa vähän myöhemmin.
