This inspiring book will unlock children’s ideas for writing stories, poems, comics, blogs, reviews, movie scripts and more. As well as activities for writing compelling story outlines, dialogue and lively characters, there are tips for writing horror stories, romance and thrillers, and even shock journalism. With lots of space to write in – but no scary blank pages.
Louie Stowell started her career writing carefully researched books about space, ancient Egypt, politics, and science, but eventually she lapsed into just making stuff up. She likes writing about dragons, wizards, vampires, fairies, monsters, and parallel worlds. Louie Stowell currently works as the publisher of Ladybird Books and lives in London with her wife, Karen; her dog, Buffy; and a creepy puppet that is probably cursed.
Another creative writing book I would have loved to have as a child. This is a wonderful introduction to the craft of writing. I hope I'll be able to give this to my niece or nephew one day to they never lose the joy of telling stories once they leave elementary school.
