The Story of a Thief

Tony was born into a family of thieves. His life seems predestined, until his girlfriend Eva disappears suddenly. For several years he put all his skills into finding her, even working in the police, but there is no sign of his girlfriend. In several of the investigations he leads, Tony works with a psychic who uses Tarot cards. He is so impressed by her gift so he decides to tell her his story with the hope that she will help him to find Eva. However, it turns out that Isabella's life is no less complicated than his. The two have a lot in common and this creates tension and romance in their relationship. In the course of their investigation, Tony and Isabella discover that nothing is as it seems.

An interesting choice of main characters is the first thing I noticed about this book. I am into psychic stuff, so I was interested in following the story because of the tarot reader's presence in this novel. The psychology of the psychic is not the main focus of the book, though, as it turns out there is a complicated plot that keeps you guessing what will happen next. I also found the interaction between the characters intriguing. No more spoilers, sorry! I will just say it is a good book, and I recommend it!

Още в самото начало се запознаваме с Тони, роден в семейство на професионални крадци. Той израства заедно със своите братя и сестри, обучавайки се на този стар занаят. Среща любовта на живота си и всичко изглежда привидно спокойно, до момента, в който Ева не изчезва безследно. В опитите си да я намери той започва работа в полицията и години наред се опитва да открие следи към изчезналата си любима.
Един ден решава да потърси помощта на признат медиум, гледащ на карти Таро, с който полицията е работила неведнъж. В лицето на Изабела, той открива съмишленик, сродна душа и човек криещ своите тайни.
В този свой роман, авторката отново не бяга от тежката действителност и реалността, която съпътства нейните герои.
Това е една криминална история, съдържаща в себе си и представяща пред читателя, множество дилеми и различни възможни пътища за решаване на мистерията, около изчезването на няколко млади момичета.
Написаното държи в напрежение, още от първата среща между двамата главни герои, чак до самия финал и последното изречение.
Какво означава да си крадец?
Това е същността на главния мъжки персонаж , или поне така изглежда в началото. Неговата история е задълбочено представена и показва вътрешното му желание от една страна да оправдае очакванията на родителите си, и от друга да изгради свой собствен начин на живот. Авторката ни дава възможност да проследим много отчетливо емоциите и чувствата преминаващи през Тони на всеки етап от разследването.
Сред страниците на книгата се разглежда и темата за жертвите на отвличания. Какви последствия има този акт за тях и за техните близки.

"The Story of a Thief" by Hristina Bloomfield is a captivating read that truly showcases her talent as an author. This being the second book I've read of hers, I’m amazed at how she masterfully crafts complex characters and weaves an intricate plot that keeps you hooked until the very last page. Her storytelling is immersive, and the twists are both surprising and satisfying. Bloomfield's ability to bring her worlds to life makes her books a joy to read. I can’t wait to dive into more of her work!

This is an incredible read which I really loved. We follow Tony, who is a thief, and Isabella, his physic friend, as they attempt to solve the disappearances of multiple women. One of the missing ladies is Tony’s girlfriend, who he was due to marry which adds another layer to the tale.

This is written very well and I loved the way it started. I had no clue where the plot would go and had a very good experience reading this! This was unlike anything else I’ve read, and its charm grabbed me early on. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a strong plot and well-developed characters!

I love stories about thieves so I was super excited to receive the Kindle version of this book. However, I could only make it half way through as the grammatical errors became so distracting. I continually had to reread words and sentences to understand what the author was trying to say.

It would be very helpful if the book went through a complete edit and corrections were made. The premise of the story is great it is just to hard to stay focused.

I found the idea of this book so intriguing. The psychic cross detective was a good mix.
The first chapter of this book is really long but needed to set the seen and then the rest of the book becomes more fast paced.

Not the best thing I’ve ever read however it was hooking and intriguing enough that I wanted to finish it however it ended how I expected.

I almost dnf’d this book. It was like reading something poorly translated. It had so many grammatical errors, poorly constructed sentences, and name changes, I nearly gave up. Sentences such as, ‘it annoyed the man standing in the chair’, nearly finished me.
The actual story was ok, a detective and a psychic, but this psychic had a set of magic tarot cards! Lucky girl!
It was engaging enough that I finished it, but a fairly predictable ending. I won’t be reading any more from this author

A smart thief and beautiful psychic. The story is very unique and the characters are unusual. The first chapter of the book is long and is tied to the title of the book. After that, the story is more dynamic. This is a well-written crime-romance story.

It would be good the editor of the book to go over the manuscript again. There are errors. A good editor should not miss it.

Great read! The first chapter is longer and tells Tony's story. I really enjoyed the book. The fortune teller's character surprised me a lot. I was expecting a brazen thief and a lying psychic, but actually their characters are very likable.
