"When icy control meets loose laser cannon, the rules go up in flames. "

"Orion, Book 4"

Commander Daron Navos. Renowned Indigon intuit, respected leader a man running from half of himself. He can control the mind of any creature in the galaxy, even lock his dark, human sexual needs behind a wall of icy self control. Until he meets a woman who tempts him into using his powers for seduction the lovely, innocent Nelah Cobalt.

As Nelah s star rose with her burgeoning Indigon powers at university, she leapt at the chance to intern under Navos. But the hero of her fantasies fears her human half is too volatile to be trusted with the coveted position.

When they are forced to combine powers to stop a sabotage attempt, their incredibly intimate mind-meld turns a simple case of post-battle attraction into a night of passion neither thought possible. And, as Navos teaches her to use her powers to heighten sensual pleasure, he finds she isn t the only Indigon with much to learn.

Except it s clear someone is remotely using psychic powers to endanger the ship. Nelah may be the key, and Navos faces his greatest challenge ever loving the woman who may have to sacrifice herself to save "The Orion."

Warning: Spock-like hero who gives into temptation and uses intuitive powers for sexual satisfaction, heroine who is more than happy to submit to his sensual control, and ship full of space voyagers enjoying the waves of passion emanating from the powerful couple. Voyeurism shockingly included.

Daron plays Spock and Nelah is nurse Kate... except she does get lucky ; )

A continuation of the soap opera of life on the star cruiser, Orion. In this book Daron and Nelah are the focus. It's like 'The Love Boat' meets 'Speed 2'.

He's a calm cool cucumber to keep his passion-ridden human half under control. Always a danger with his strong psychic abilities. She too is a half Indigon psychic and half human, but tends to embrace her feelings more than him. There's an age gap and she is also his intern. But he can't seem to resist her.

Crazed attacks on the ship bring them together despite his resistance. Can he trust her, the step-daughter of his nemesis?
The trust thing isn't overplayed and the story moves at a brisk pace. Lots of action, lots of comedic relief, lots of entertaining side characters. Justice in the end.
Basically a lot of fun!!

I loved the way his emotions would leak out and affect the whole ship whenever she made him lose control. Too funny!

Who would think I'd start getting bored with sex scenes? Not me but I have to say that I started skimming all those parts because it's the same scene, different partners. My likes go in phases, so I guess I'm starting to be done with sexually explicit romance. :(

The story itself was predictable. There's a conflict that happens, they catch the villain but don't question him which seems stupid to me but whatever. I probably won't read anymore of this series.

It's hard to get into a story when the heroine makes you want to cringe on every page. She was selfish, egotistical and an overall slut. I don't like it when the MCs have relations with everyone but each other. I understand that is needed for some stories. However, this woman was doing it just to tick him off at every turn. She even made sure he knew. That I didn't like at all. I actually felt bad for the hero and wished he would end up with someone else. Even, when he could take no more and left she had the nerve to be mad at him for even that. Come on now, really?!

I'm giving this one 2 stars because I liked the hero and if an author can make you feel emotion while reading even if its strong dislike then I say bravo! However, I will more than likely not read this one again.

This was my favorite book of the Orion series. The cerebral heroes always add some extra spice. Nelah led Daron Navos on a merry chase and turned this taciturn man inside out. It was an enjoyable ride that continued the characters and themes of the whole series. Always fun to see past characters and their reactions to their previously unflappable friend.

For all things are settling down somewhat aboard the Orion after the last thwarted sabotage effort, the crew are still on edge. As one is when dealing with the things they're dealing with. Traitors and bio-bombs and alllll sorts of others things. Good times!

This time around, we have the co-captains in charge of security making eyes at one another. Or, well, trying to drive one another crazy with lingering looks and all that. You know, while trying to keep the Orion safe.

Buuuuut, as often happens, things are complicated. Slyde is a little more than he seems. Sirena is everything she seems. There's a royal group on board who have something a little extra traveling with them.

Which means it's another crazy trip for the Orion. Yesssssss.

Whew. The final book in the Orion cycle has the crew finally uncovering the power behind the attempted sabotages on this and their previous voyages. It also gives Navos--who's been instrumental in helping keep the ship safe--his chance at making a romantic connection with his special lady friend.

Honestly, he almost blows that chance, but he's a smart guy and figures it out eventually. Not without plenty of bumps and such on the road to true love, but he gets there.

As for Nelah, she's initially thrilled to have the chance to work with a brilliant mind like Navos. Plus, you know, she's crushing on the guy in a big way. The fact he basically rejects her for reasons that have nothing to do with her abilities doesn't sit well with her. And she lets him know it. Yeah, these two butt heads quite a bit before they reach an emotional accord.

The bottom line: We get answers. We get resolution. We get sexy times with two powerful people who like each other A LOT. Good stuff!

Pro: H is a virgin and won't sleep with h unless she commits to him.

Con: H gets a bj from a cadet, and h walks in. oh, btw, it's her fault, since she had been teasing him (having sex with someone else since she isn't committed to him), and the cadet caught him in a weak moment.

Con: Pitiful cadet dies in a silly attempt to show she could be useful. H feels a microsecond's worth of guilt (she was trying to impress him)

Pro: The author can actually differentiate between lie and lay (and when to use which variant! Hallelujah!)

Con: instead of ever having a conversation, and talkimg to the h, the H storms off to do impulsive, stupid things.

... Haven't finished yet. Ooh i wonder what else is in store.

Prince of Dragons makes you want to live in books.

Slyde Stone is a one woman man and he won’t settle for less. He is a dragon-shifter and has to stay undercover so that he can find his mate and have her fall for him and not his status. So he must stay a virgin until he finds his mate. That is just the way of the dragons.

Sirena Blaze is good at her job. She also has abandonment issues. She has sex with men and leaves them before they can leave her. She’s on the prowl for another man when she meets Slyde. It doesn’t seem that he wants her so she finds another male.

You can just feel the sparks that are coming off of Slyde and Sirena. They both want each other for different reasons. Sirena just wants to have sex with Slyde. Slyde wants Sirena as his mate and knows that she isn’t ready. This is the first story that I’ve read that the woman really just goes and has sex with men when she wants just one.

This story has everything that you want in a book. You have sex, fighting, and people trying to kill you. You never know what is going to happen next. So you are kept on the edge of your seat. It is just so exciting. The story just had a great plot.

You would think that you were on a love boat instead of a ship that had passengers and cargo. You also get to meet the other characters from the other two books and see what is going on with them. I enjoyed the suspense of the two killer snakes and everyone trying to find them before they killed who they were sent to kill.

You also wonder if Slyde will be able to stay a virgin until he mates with Sirena or will he give in to his hunger if it gets to be too much. Who will win the bargain? I can’t wait to read the next one and see what happens. I wonder what it will be about and will they finally catch the person who is out to sabotage the ship?

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great adventure and loves a lot of sex. So happy reading and enjoy.

Hunter's Review

I have been reading Cathryn Cade’s Orion story since the first one was published. Wow. I’ve loved every book but I can honestly say with no trepidation that this book, the Prince of Dragons, is her best one yet. Cade is a talented author and Dragons highlights her in so many ways, especially in the amount she has grown as an author.

Sirena is a complicated heroine. She has severe issues when it comes to trust and even though Slyde is a virgin and highly moralistic, he is not without his own baggage. I enjoyed watching them circle each other. I loved it when they finally came together.

This is a great book. An extraordinary one.

Wasn’t keen on heroines’ actions or selfish behaviour.
Read in the box set. Have read books one and two before. First time reading this story.
Would love to say this is another great read in this series but due to the heroine being a self-centred slut it was spoilt for me.
Not been a fan of Sirena since book one.
The enjoyment for me came with another attempt against the Orion to ruin the Lodestar line.
Great having the crew interaction again but sad about the deaths.
My only gripe with this story was Sirena, I understand her Serpentian nature but not why she was so harsh and mean to Slyde.
Never quite felt she redeemed herself after basically seducing him for her own prideful reasons.
Wanted Slyde to be with someone else.

Read in the box set. Have read books one and two before. First time reading this story.
A good story with a very intriguing plot using the indigo mind control ability being used.
We get a very well written and enjoyable story that gives us a conclusion to the sabotage events of the previous books but with a very good added twist.
Liked Nelah’s naivety and her open responses to Commander Davon.
Even though she gets hurt by his coolness she is more than capable of looking out for herself.
Davon was blowing hot and cold and was quick to believe the worst of Nelah. He learnt in the end.
Loved the epilogue.

I like this series and I love dragons. I was put off a bit by the characters in this book being co-commanders in the book previous to this, yet they suddenly meet at the start of this? I could understand if it was a flashback, but other characters talk about events that happened before. So I found that confusing and distracting, which may have kept me from connecting with the heroine and hero as much as I would have liked, and did with the earlier books.

I really enjoy Cathryn Cades' space fantasy's and this one is no exception. The culture clash of different beings makes for a great story. The sexual tension between Slyde and Sirena is top notch and when they finally get together it is downright combustible. Note: there is some squick factor in the prologue and epilogue but nothing you can't get past if you remind yourself they are aliens.

Wow... a fun story with lots of steam and fun characters. Its been a while since I read sci-fi and Ms. Cade has reminded me of why I like it. Her ship descriptions are interesting and add to the setting in strong way. I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

Another spicy adventure in deep space. I loved this one. I guess I like the idea of meshing mind and body during sex. It’s also nice to know that even if he can read your mind the great and powerful Navos can screw up just like any other man.

What a good series!

Cathryn Cade has given her readers a very good series. Book four ties up all the books. I really enjoyed the characters interact in this series and felt like I was watching a SciFi drama. Catherine Cade hit it out of the park with this series! Loved it

A blend of sci-fi fantasy but not bad, not really memorable either.
