Fun and informative! I love the colorful pop-ups and the mini-booklets interspersed all throughout the book. It was a crash course of sorts summarizing all the pertinent little facts concerning Vikings and their beliefs. Why, I didn't know they played chess!

This book talks about where vikings came from. It also talks about their ships, weapons, and gives other fun facts and history. After reading this I would have the student read "Sir Cumference and the Isle of Immeters" by Cindy Neushwander. This book relates because it also talks about ships and traveling. It gives some history along with the story and even a little math lesson.
