Countless Sleepless Nights: A collection of coming-out stories and experiences

Rate this book
'I'm sorry I can't say this to your face, but words fail me every time I try, even though I know you would be fine (and knowing you, you might have already guessed).'

A moving, inspiring and thought-provoking collection of coming-out stories from around the world. From the good, the sad, the surprising and the funny, no two stories are the same, yet all are written by people who share the courage to be vulnerable, take huge risks to find love and acceptance and are brave enough to be their authentic selves. Whether you have any experience of coming out or not, these stories are incredibly powerful and moving.

So many different emotions consumed me while reading this book. It’s absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking to read such vulnerable stories. It makes me appreciate my own story and how I continue to grow and evolve.

These stories are personal and often heartfelt, and I can see why many readers find them moving. For me, though, I wanted deeper or more varied insight into queerness in and beyond the coming-out experience itself. I appreciated the honesty, but the through-line felt loose and didn’t always land with the nuance I was hoping for.

Beautiful heartwarming collection of stories. I appreciate the careful mix of different backgrounds, races and genders! It’s comforting to know that we’re not alone and that there are always those who understand and just their existence is comfort enough.

Also the drawings were so lovely and a nice touch!!

Such a beautiful book with fascinating stories. Some of them will bring a tear to the eye for the sadness of humanity and how people can treat each other to the absolute joyful tears that come from families acceptance.

A lovely read and truly showing utter joy

This was such a heartwarming, beautiful and devastating collection of stories. From the very first page I was hooked. It's such a privilege to hear of other people's stories.

Stories felt repetitive. Wished gender was provided in the beginning of each story.
