Trevor changed my life after a small number of sessions of therapy. I know this model works and through this book I also understand why

I really enjoyed this book. Trevor Silvester helps us to understand how our minds work, how we build our Reality Tunnels based our life experiences, and introduces the term Memoragination, which reflects that past memory and future imagination share the same wiring in our brains. Flexibility is key in this book. Firstly in the "science" which we are encouraged to hold as "strong ideas, held weakly" because science is finding more about our brains/mind every day. And then in the way we work with our Clients to choose an apt technique, observe how it's working and be able to swap to another technique if apt, to serve best the Client. In the words of Bruce Lee "Be like Water".

The title is misleading--this isn't about Cognitive Hypnotherapy in the sense of CBT using hypnotic techniques (there are excellent primers on that topic by E. Thomas Dowd and Assen Alladin). This is just another book about hypnosis using NLP techniques, and those are kind of a dime a dozen. I'm giving it three stars because the guy's a good writer, and presents the material in an intelligent way, but I didn't learn anything new here.
