Lovely gift from my friend Debbie!

I am looking forward to trying different recipes this year. There are a lot of ingredients that I’ll have to source because they aren’t readily available in a typical Mississippi grocery store.

⭐️⭐️ Torta Al Mandarino
(Upside-down clementine cake) pg. 35.
This cake was just ok. If I made it again, I would segment the clementines and arrange them on the bottom instead of just cutting the fruit in half. I would also put more sugar on the bottom/top. It rose well and had the consistency of an angel food cake, but was too dry for me.

Easy instructions, readily available ingredients, full page color photos, and brief history (when pertinent) about the recipes. What more could you ask for?

These bakes all look great. I haven't heard of most of them, so it's very interesting.
I want to try the recipe for candied almonds.
