An enjoyable read overall, especially with a cup of coffee in the morning before work. Unfortunately, some of the information presented is of dubious value. Practicality of roasting good coffee at home aside, the advice on grinding with a pestle and mortar or rolling pin is demonstrably bad as it would produce a grossly inconsistent grind side leading to uneven extraction. Otherwise the information presented didn't seem to be blatantly untrue, though I am by no means an expert on all the topics covered, and wouldn't be surprised if there are errors which I simply did not notice. Regardless, as I said, an overall enjoyable read but by no means a bible after which to base one's coffee practices.
It is short and light reading. Overview of history, brewing methods and serving styles. Found some interesting recipes and some unusual coffee styles. Good book for a coffee nerd beginner but not a seasoned one
