I'm just about to start teaching this again so thought I'd have a quick recap of the novel through this revision guide.
It's not amazing insightful but it's solid and there's lots of information to support a GCSE pupil.
I do like York Notes for most of the texts I've worked with and this is of the usual quality.
The only really big error in it is where it advises "If you use a word like allegory, explain what it means to show you know what you're talking about." Pupils explaining literary terms gets them no marks at all and it's a waste of time.
Despite that, this guide wouldn't get you to grade 9, but would be useful for most pupils. The 'checkpoints' and hints that accompany them are particularly interesting.
