Rate this book
Bestselling author and TV vet David Grant won a legion of new fans with the warm and funny account of his first years as a vet in "Just Practising. In this book he relives more of the highs and lows of the green young country vet with a fair bit still to learn... In an impulsive move, David decides to leave the Kent countryside when he starts at the now famous RSPCA Harmsworth hospital in London--a far cry from his country home. David battles through the urban jungle and shares with us the blossoming of what will become his two major passions: working with small animals and the RSPCA. However, the switch from farm animals to pets is not the soft option David had assumed.

Very entertaining diary of a vet in the late sixties, early seventies. The vet stories are great, but it is stretched over the the sory of young man finding his way in life with a very small compass
