Pippa Jones seems to have it all. The only thing that the high-flying career girl is missing is love. When she spots a gorgeous man who seems to be following her everywhere she goes, she wonders if fate is trying to throw them together. But with her job on the line can she afford to make time for this handsome, mysterious stranger?
As you can see, a Dubliner all my life. My parents owned a grocery shop in the Iveagh Markets, in the Liberties area of the city and I guess city blood runs through my veins.
As a child I enjoyed reading and telling stories and everyone thought that I end up in a job which had something to do with books and literature. But though I applied for a job in the library all of the job offers I got were in commerce.
I turned down lots of them before my mother accepted one for me (I was on holiday at the time). It was in the Central Bank of Ireland and that’s how my career in financial services began.
I started out in administration and then moved jobs until finally I was working as a dealer in a commercial bank. Eventually I was promoted to Chief Dealer (the first female CD in the country). I traded lots of different things – foreign exchange, swaps, options, bonds…all of the kind of things you read about in the papers and that sound very technical and difficult. Of course once you’re doing it, it’s not half as technical as it sounds.
But I still loved reading and writing (which I did in my spare time) and I desperately wanted to write my own book. I guess I never quite got over the fact that I was never offered the library job! In my thirties I decided that it was now or never and I sat down, stuck Chapter 1 on a page, and started. I wrote the whole thing before sending it off.
I was offered a publishing deal (with no advance) by an Irish company but only if I wrote a different book! So back to the drawing board, I started again. It was another two years before it was published. It wasn’t until I’d written a few books and was offered a contract (this time with an advance!) from another publisher that I felt able to give up my trading job and write full time. So, even though it took a long time, I eventually realised my dream of being a full-time writer.
And now I also write a business column for the Irish Times.
When I’m writing a book I want to do three things:
* Tell a good story * Make the reader feel like they know the characters * Make each book better than the last
I don’t write for any particular audience but I suppose I must have people like me in mind – people who have busy lives and who like to escape into someone else’s for a while.
I love writing books. I hope you enjoy reading them.
Pippa is on a mission to become a top saleswoman for the firm she works for in order to win a trip to New York. Having just split up with her partner she is not looking for romance, but while on her business trips around the country she keeps seeing a gorgeous man, and is beginning to wonder if he is following her.
Follow Me is a delightful romance. Sheila O'Flanagan brings together two characters who are perfectly suited to be in a relationship. Yet the very perfect nature of the relationship is the thing that threatens to separate them as it seems too good to be true thus breeding distrust. The conflict in this story is based on understandable misconstruction and highlights the value of trust.
I enjoyed this story. It is well written, well structured and moves at a good pace. As part of the Quick Reads series, it was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and leaves the reader feeling content.
About 2.5 * Chicklit isn't my favourite genre, so it's unfair to rate it low because of that. The plot was a good idea. The writing and dialogue a bit flat.
I can't say that I enjoyed this one at all. The main character was too shallow and self-absorbed to hold my interest, and I saw the big "surprise" coming from half a book away. Then again, I tend to dislike romance novels. Maybe a fan of them would feel differently. I'll save this for my Little Free Library.
"Pippa Jones is twenty-something and single. She likes chips, country music and her cat. She also loves her career as number one sales rep for a computer firm. The only thing she hasn’t got time for is men. Broken-hearted last time round, Pippa is sticking to girlfriends – and winning a dream trip to New York.
However, life isn’t that simple. A rival firm is stealing her clients and a tall, fair stranger is following her everywhere. He’s in the bar, at dinner, even at her meetings. Is he a stalker?
Whoever he is, he’s about to turn Pippa’s world upside-down.

This was an in-between book. As expected, it was a light and nice little lovestory of 111 pages, perfect to read between heavy literature in summertime 😊
Another quite enjoyable quite read but if i was seeing the same guy at every place I had to do a sales pitch and then I lost the pitch I would put 2 and 2 together but not this character. Again it had one of my pet hates describing what they are eating and drinking in more detail. Quite ironic as i post pictures of things that I cook.
As usual Shelia O'Flanagan delivers, but because it was such a short story, I did not feel I could award it a hirer star rating, but for a quick holiday read it was ideal
Bijvoorbeeld Yours, Faithfully.
Pippa Jones lives in London, she is a Senior Sales Consultant in IT she is really good at her job, loves it, and she wants to win the trip to New York for the best sales person. Pippa is single loves chips, chocolate and is trying to stay away from men to mend her broken heart; she keeps seeing a very good looking man, in Birmingham, Luton, and then Liverpool Is he following her? They manage to start a conversation as he accuses her of stalking him; they soon put their differences to one side and start dating. Pippa discovers Safety Net (the opposition) is stealing all her contracts. Pippa soon discovers something about Gerry (the mysterious follower) what can it be? But does Pippa win the trip and is it a happy ending for her? A great light read, it is a quick read, I read it within an hour, I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend.
Absoloutely god awful!! This book actually needs torn in half, and i could very easily have done this to my own copy. So many things went unanswered, there were so many plot holes, loops and problems with the continuity and the characters?? JESUS CHRIST GROW A BLOODY BACKBONE!!! It was akin to bad fanfiction. She did this then this and i'm pretty sure the author just liked to type her name. I wont bother boring you with the rest.
This was a sweet, fun and easy to read short story. If you are looking for something short and sweet to while away a sunny afternoon then I would definitely recommend 'Follow Me'. The author did a brilliant job at showing natural and realistic character and story development in such a short word count, and made me connect with the characters on a level where I really cared about whether their relationship would survive. 4 Stars!
