This accessible, engaging introduction to qualitative research methods covers a wide range of qualitative methods including ethnography, observation, interviewing, content analysis, and unobtrusive measures. The text also includes well-chosen research examples and exercises to help students understand and apply various research techniques.
"Qualitative Methods in Social Research" is helpful, but to a particular degree. If you're stuck on how to piece together ideas on your social research project, I do not recommend this book, rather, I suggest: "Methods of Social Research" by: Kenneth D. Bailey (Fourth Edition).
Excellent text for beginners in qualitative research. It's written in such a way that undergrads will not only understand but actually enjoy learning about it. Only appropriate at a graduate level if the student has not yet learnt the basics. Enjoyable read!
Nice introductory overview of qualitative methods; some material for thought. Found it a little odd that 90% of the researchers mentioned were female (or so it seemed), so wondering about bias.
