Seanan McGuire

Hi! I'm Seanan McGuire, author of the Toby Daye series (Rosemary and Rue, A Local Habitation, An Artificial Night, Late Eclipses), as well as a lot of other things. I'm also Mira Grant (www.miragrant.com), author of Feed and Deadline.

Born and raised in Northern California, I fear weather and am remarkably laid-back about rattlesnakes. I watch too many horror movies, read too many comic books, and share my house with two monsters in feline form, Lilly and Alice (Siamese and Maine Coon).

I do not check this inbox. Please don't send me messages through Goodreads; they won't be answered. I don't want to have to delete this account. :(

Some years it seems like everything in the anthologies (my preferred reading) has gone weird. To me it's like the cycle for everyone to get creative has come again and everyone has to get all existential. My life is just strange enough that I don't have the shared metaphors to connect with them. This would be one of those.

Lots of good stories, some better than others, though one in particular ("The Bride Replete", by Mary Robinette Kowal), stands out for me. Some of the formatting is a bit off, with misplaced hyphens and such, and there are quite a few noticeable typos, but they don't detract too much from the content.

Such a great collection from such a great magazine. Special props to Seanan McGuire's DYING WITH HER CHEER PANTS ON, which was read aloud to great fanfare and many giggles - perfect blend of horror and humor.
