Ethan Blake is a typical, middle-aged man. He has a typical marriage, a typical job, and a typical health heart disease. But when he receives a heart transplant, his world is blown away. Ethan's new heart was harvested from a murdered FBI agent, Richard Hamlin, and this life saving procedure soon turns into a medical nightmare. Hamlin's DNA and mind become entangled with Ethan's, and, as they seek revenge against Hamlin's killers, they enter the world of drug lords, militia radicals, turncoat spies, NASA secrets, and homicide. In the end, Ethan uncovers a government there is intelligent life beyond our solar system. HeartBeat is a Science Fiction novel which focuses on medical and extra-terrestrial issues. The story is told in the somewhat lighthearted fashion of a hastily written expose churned out by pulp media. In other words, it's a fun book to read.
