Searching for the One

Rate this book
When Melvin suddenly leaves Sara for a much younger woman, after eighteen years of a bumpy marriage, she is left with three growing children and a heart full of dreams. Hurt, saddened, and not sure how to go on, she is not given much time to grieve. Her spunky children cheer her on, and the newly formed group of single women in the neighborhood decide it's time to help each other start searching for the One. Before she knows it, Sara has a single profile on the online dating sites, and the wild ride begins.

Sara has to learn to go from being a somewhat old-fashioned mom to a modern woman, dating one strange guy after another, learning about herself, about men, and finally waking up to what love really means. Her mother tries to pull her backwards, to the old neighborhood, to marrying her friend's stable son. But Sara's destiny is moving in another direction. She consults her psychic regularly, who keeps encouraging her and letting her know that a powerful and strange encounter is on the way. But this soul mate won't be someone she expected, and the relationship won't be easy, at least not at first.

Just as she feels she is losing hope, and when she least expects it, Sara's unexpected soul mate appears. This romance unfolds in an equally shocking and life-changing ending, one which is sure to lift readers’ hearts.

Feel like half the book was missing as far as "the one" goes. Never figured out quite what he did for a living...just a lot of unanswered questions. And while the online dating thing is pretty accurately portrayed, a more realistic story line for how it actually goes when you meet "the one" would have been preferable.

This is such a fun, heartwarming romance. Really uplifting. And such a fast read. I fell in love with the characters from the very first page. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2011! Highly recommend it!

I got this book for free at B&N and really enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting much for it being $0.00, but I was happily surprised at how well the story unfolded. Really good book.
