American agent Erin Grayson is assigned to seduce international businessman Reece Champion. But she's been set up. Reece is an agent, too--and a vampire.
This book was down-right awful. Unlike some of the other review that I've read, I did actually finish the novel, but it was a real struggle. Let me just go into the reason's why I HATED this book:
1. Too much going on - we have Merlin, the knights of the round table, otherworldly angel/demon things, faeries, vampires, witches, and the FBI. There was just way too much going on.
2. Knight made me feel nothing for her characters. The plot was so complicated and the sex scenes were so graphic that there was never a time where I really got to know the characters or care about what they were doing. There are times where Knight attempts to do this with Erin and David story (didn't care about Erin at that point so I really didn't care about her relationship with this guy we really didn't get to know or his stupid death), with Reece's story about LIzzie (he was a vampire and had to kill this lady a long long time ago, again really didn't care), and then with Reece and Erin's great love (they had only known each other 3 days, most of which were spent in an otherworldly sex cell) was about to be destroyed by either the Fairy King Llyr's proposal or the villain of the story (whose name I cannot remember) was about to sacrifice them.
3. The sex scenes were so graphic and unromantic that this is more erotica than romance. Most modern romance don't say things like "throbbing member" and "heaving bosoms" but it's just jarring and tasteless to refer to lady bits as the dreaded and vulgar "C" word. He also at one point stated that her lady juice's were as tasty as a Big Mac, which what lady in her right mind would find that sexy?
4. A slow and boring read. You would think that with all the sex and crazy plot that this would be an interesting page-turn but instead reading this novel was like trudging through waste-deep mud that glowed with fairy dust and smelled like dirty hot sex. It was slow, difficult and painful at times, and I remember saying "Thank God!" when it was finally over.
I will not be continuing on with the series and almost wish that I could unread this garbage.
This book was OK but not great. I sort of enjoyed it, but it didn't ever really grab me and make me want to read more. Don't think I'll bother with the next book in the series...
Haunted by the night her partner was murdered, the heroine has convinced herself that the things she saw were all drug induced halluctions. But it resulted in the loss of her job in the FBI. Now she works for a private police force and is on the trail of the man she knows is responsible. The path leads her to the hero. A playboy, rich and hansom with a dangerous edge, she's willing to sleep with him to get closer to finding her enemy. The hero, a vampire in Arthurs court zeros in on the beauty woman at the party and vowed to seduce her. Honestly she put up zero fight and he brings her home to screw her in the garden. Afterwards they are set upon by the enemy- an old God seeking the end of the world so he can once again receive ritual sacrifices in him name. He kidnaps the hero and heroine and imprison them in a magical cage. There-without any hope of escape, the hero realized the only chance they have to get out is to change the heroine in the witch she's capable of becoming. He does this by having sex with her 3 times. They succeed in escaping the cage but immediately are seized by the Fae-who's king wants the heroine for his own....Yeah, this book was absolute shit. I couldn't stand it from beginning to end. First thing that I despised was the vast and explicit single minded focus on sex. The heroine sleeps with the hero to get some information-gross and whore-ish. The hero is put under a spell that compels him to screw the heroine-gross. The hero and heroine spend most of the book having sex-boring. It just never stopped! The biggest issue I have with erotic romance is that is all erotic and no romance. This was the case with the hero who was forced to fall in love by the author when it wasn't believable or natural. The characters had no chemistry. Add that to a boring as dirt plot and it wasn't bearable. Honestly, I didn't finish this book but I wanted it out of my to read pile. Skip this book-I beg you!!
Absolute literary garbage! If this book were any cheesier it would grow mold. I feel like I lost twenty IQ points forcing myself to endure this pointless, plotless "story". The writing style is of Wal-Mart quality, and the dialogue wooden predictability masquerading as wit and coy. Penthouse Letters have more plot and much better eroticism than this novel. What is really unfortunate is that the world-building element of the backstory, and I'm referring to the pre-prologue, had so much potential. Centering around the Arthurian legends of the Knights of the Round table, Merlin and his wife Nimue, immortals from a different realm, left his grail to imbue certain gifts to particular humans in order for them to protect the rest of humanity. These human immortals, or Magekind, use the energy of the Mageverse to give themselves extraordinary powers. Males turn into vampires and females turn into Majae, or witches. Sounds good, right? I thought so too, and Angela Knight should have continued to build on this, but sadly, she didn't in this novel. Instead what the reader receives is explicitly gratuitous and repetitious sex scenes where Erin Grayson, a former cop now turned spy trying to uncover cult's that perform human sacrifices, meets Reece Champion, a vampire who protects human-kind, and their excruciatingly brief encounter before hopping in the sack and realizing, two days later, that they can't live without each other. Both are kidnapped by a demon, and Reece realizes he must change Erin into a Majae in order to break out of their captures prison. And how do you think she's turned? Not by a bite, no...but by having sex with him three times. But, there's the possibility she might go insane. However, she doesn't. Too bad, because it might have made the story much better. However, they fight the bad guys with minimal help from the Knights and all is well. The end. *ugh*
First in the Mageverse paranormal romance series and revolving around changed Knights and their ladies of the Round Table. The couple focus is on Erin Grayson and Reece Champion whose story starts in Atlanta, Georgia.
My Take It helps that Knight uses third person global subjective point-of-view, as it allows us access to any character’s thoughts and actions, opening us to the character arcs Reece and Grace must each face. Primarily the perspectives are from Reece and Erin, but we do hear from Parker, the Magekind, Geirolf, Llyr, Janeida, and some others.
Knight sets up Reece’s background with a look back in history — to 1780 when a Magi falls in love with an agent. Reece also relates how Merlin and Nimue’s culture evolved. More back history comes from Geirolf as he notes where he and his people came from, how they terrorized earth, and how they were put down.
I’m sure all spies love a drunk, lol. Ooh, Reece believes that romantics are more dangerous than barbarians. And I think he’s right!
I gotta laugh (and, ahem, enjoy thoroughly) the critical aspects of life as one of the Magekind. Both sexes are encouraged to have sex to ensure descendants who could be Latents. Descendants who have the potential to be Changed, to be one of them. A Change which requires, ahem, sex, lol.
I reckon all those years of making love have made Reece quite the expert — Erin certainly thinks so. Be warned there is bondage, role-playing, and more.
Knight has also made a fascinating premise with these Knights of the Round Table, immortal (mostly), who have survived the centuries, poking at the legends. It seems that Galahad is not the saint he’s been painted. You can’t help but imagine them as men of A.D. 500 who embrace the Grateful Dead, T-shirts, and jeans, the Majae’s version of a medieval dance performed in miniskirts and tight leather pants, yep, Lancelot loves progress, lol. As for Avalon’s architecture, oy! Disneyland is restrained compared to Avalon, lol. I doubt there’s an HOA here.
Merlin and Nimue created the Magekind to prevent humans from destroying themselves, and it sounds like it’s been quite the job. Naturally, their existence has to be kept secret, which adds conflict, the sex adds romance, and I love Knight using the story to promote honor, loyalty, and the desire to do the right thing. Grace is certainly pushing at Lance on this note!
Reece has “spied, lied, and killed” for the US over the past two hundred and twenty-eight years. For some reason, he wants a vacation.
It’s a typical bad guy scenario. They want to use the good guys to build their own army and see nothing wrong with how they intend to do it. Their love of killing is disgusting.
Hmmm, we could use some Mageverse energies here for our own energy needs.
Master of the Night is funny with a good bit of snark, sexy, and a relaxing read.
The Story Death cults have sprung up all over, committing murder and spreading terror, horrors that Erin is determined to stop, to avenge her partner.
Only, their leader has plans for Erin. A spell that will kill every last vampire and witch in the Mageverse.
The Characters Reece Champion, the Champion of the United States, is a vampire (and walking lie detector) who was changed somewhen between the French and Indian Wars and the Revolutionary War. (He served with George Washington!) Champion International is the company Reece founded shortly after he was Changed to help provide for his descendants, starting with his son, Caleb. Rebecca Champion had been Reece’s human wife who died birthing Caleb. Today, the cover is that Reece is a second cousin, and he's listed as a junior VP. The current CEO is Steve Champion.
Former FBI Agent Erin Grayson now works for the Outfit. Erin is determined to take down the man who murdered her partner, David Jennings. Her granddad had fought in World War II; her father had been a Marine who died in Vietnam.
The Magekind The Magekind High Council is in charge, and they weren’t happy, back in 1780, to be siding with the Colonies. The High Council is a blend of the Magi’s Council and the Majae’s Council, women-only, and only the women can determine if a potential person can survive the Change.
Arthur (Champion of Britain) and Guinevere; Lancelot du Lac (a former Court Seducer) and his new bride, Grace (Hot Blooded: "Seduction's Gift", 0.5; Grace is also Morgana’s granddaughter); Galahad (Lancelot’s son); Gawain; Morgana Le Fay (Arthur’s sister, and they did have a son, Mordred); Bedivere (Reece thinks Grace is one of his); and, Sebille, who was the Maja sent to seduce the human Reece, are some of the Magekind. The Grimoire is a sentient book left by Merlin.
The Sidhe . . . . . . also live in the Mageverse where Llyr Aleyn Galatyn is king of the Cachamwri Sidhe. Janieda is Llyr's jealous mistress. Ahern, a wise counsel and friend to Janieda, is a unicorn. Llyr's brother, Ansgar, rules another kingdom and is a psychopath determined to get someone to murder his brother. Oriana is their grandmother.
The Outfit, a.k.a. . . . . . . the Office of Foreign Analysis, a secret counter-terrorist agency loosely connected to the FBI that breaks the rules. James Avery, her FBI mentor, is the agent who recruited Erin to the Outfit. Steven Parker is the nominal head of this particular operation. Mike Richards is Reece’s counterintelligence contact.
Corporal Thomas Rysentat spilled the beans. George Gavel is the CEO of ComTec, a company in which Champion International is interested.
Death’s Sabbat is one of the cults, which are led by Geirolf, who claims he's a god. His second-in-command is a necromancer. Gary Evans was a serial killer.
1780, Charles Town, South Carolina Reece Champion is the spymaster for Charles Town, for the Colonies. Thomas Westlake, another vampire and spy, had been Reece’s mentor when he was first turned. Benjamin is Thomas’ valet. Elizabeth “Lizzie” Thompson is human and part of their spy ring. She’s also a Latent who loved Tom, and who should not be Changed. Francis Marion, a.k.a. the Swamp Fox, is a Patriot commander. Mrs Mason is giving a party.
Merlin and Nimue were indeed powerful in their magic, but they were aliens, the Fae, on a mission. The Mageverse is a twin universe to ours, where magic is a law of nature. The grail is a cup from which drinking will change your genetic structure, if you can survive it.
The original Lords and Ladies of Camelot were the seed for Magekind: The males are Magi, vampires, and the females are Majae, witches, each necessary for the other to survive. Latents are their descendants who might be able to transform. The Magekind live in Avalon, located on Mageverse Earth. Those vampires chosen to work more openly with mortal governments are Champions. A Truebond bonds a couple for all time, able to feel the other’s emotions, their location, and speak to each other mentally.
The Cover and Title The cover has a background that starts with purple at the top and descends into green teals with a full moon and the silhouettes of trees with the colorful energy bursts of the Mageverse slashing across. A bust of a naked Reece with his wavy dark hair is in the bottom left. At the top is the author’s name in white with a deep pink outline. An info blurb is beneath her name on the right in white. Just above Reece’s shoulder is a quick summary of the story, also in white. The title is centered over Reece’s torso, in purple with a white outline.
The title is an introduction to this story on vampires, for Reece is indeed a Master of the Night.
I was in the mood for Arthurian romances and asked for recs on Twitter. This series was the first one mentioned. While it wasn't quite what I was looking for in terms of Arthurian legend, I found the series to be pretty cracktastic. I read 5 full-length novels and 3 novellas back-to-back.
In Knight's world, Arthur and his round table actually exist, but they're immortal vampires charged with saving humanity from itself. Merlin and Nimue are aliens from another planet who realized early on civilizations needed subtle help to keep them from wiping themselves out. They created the vampires to watch over humanity and work from behind the scenes to keep them from completely destroying themselves. They must remain in the shadows, for those on Earth must never know they exist.
Reece Champion is the vampire champion of the United States. He's investigating a sudden surge in cult activity when he comes into contact with Erin Grayson. Erin is a Latent, a descendant of one the round table knights. 1 in every 10 of their offspring can be turned into a Magi (female witch) or Magus (male vampire). Having sex 3 times will trigger Erin's Latent gifts and open her up to the powers of the Mageverse. The problem is, if she isn't compatible, channeling that much power can drive her insane and she'll have to be executed.
It turns out Erin is investigating the same cult activities, but she doesn't realize Reece is on her side. She's investigating him as the possible leader of the cult. It isn't long before they realize there's more going on than either of them are aware. When they end up locked in a cell together so Reece will trigger her change, they'll have to decide if they can trust each other enough to work together. The only way out may be by changing Erin, but without a deep personal connection, she might go insane.
I have to admit, the premise caused me a to raise an eyebrow at first. Having sex three times is the only way to release someone's powers? Okayyy... But it wasn't as hokey as I expected it to be. I did have to suspend disbelief somewhat to buy the insta-love in each book, but the world is really interesting and the characters drew me in. Someone described these as being "cracky" and I'd agree..the series is totally cracktastic.
NO NO NO.. think this book is just an excuse to write porn. I counted the word “cock” at least 65 times in this book.
The storyline goes like this… Merlin and Nimue who were Alien Fae came to earth to make champions and teachers out of the races on earth which were the faerie or sidje and the humans. They decided to let the bravest, most intelligent and most skilled drink from the Merlin’s Grail which gave them powers. The males who drank from the cup became Magi or vampires while the females became Majae or witches. Among the drinkers were Arthur and his knights and Guinevere and her ladies. They are called Mageverse or Magekind. The children of the Magekind are born mortal with potential to become vampire or witches but only if one of the Magekind has sex with them. It takes a few love-making sessions to transform someone into a witch or vampire.
Erin Grayson is an American spy or agent whose assignment is to seduce an international business man Reece Champion. He just so happens to be one of the Magekind and also and agent. They end up being kidnapped and imprisoned together by the evil Geiroff in the realm of the Sidje. During their confinement, Reece tries not to have sex with Reece because the third time will turn her into a witch and she could go insane so instead of having sex with her and turning her insane, (which by the way, was what was happening to me as I read this crap) he had uncontrollable sex dreams about her. It was just all kind of contrived and seemed like the author was looking for reasons to insert more erotica into the story. Vrummmmmm… Oh sorry, forgot to turn off my vibrator.
The background story and world that the author creates are actually interesting and I liked some of the characters. If there were less sex, I would have enjoyed the book more. Don’t get me wrong – I like me a good sex scene but when it rules the book, it ruins it for me. www.paranormalromanceslut.com
Ok! This book made me laugh. In a cheesy but a more educated sort of cheesy.
Vampires are very cool. All vampires are men. Their counterpart women are Maja (witches) Not everyone can turn maja or vamp. The governing board of the bunch are King Arthur & the knights of the round table. And a Fae... The way to turn a Latent Vamp or Maja is by sex. really good sex. 3 times!! Oooooo.... sounding good so far? OOokkk! Yep.
This old Vamp Reese & his "Latent" evening screw, who was actually undercover trying to stop a cult (which in 5 minutes gets solved), is kidnapped to become a sacrifice by this Godlike dude - actually more demon - so he can cast a spell to eliminate all the Vamps & witches of the world. Since the demon dude feeds off of fear and death, if he isn't stopped, after he's eliminated the witches & Vamps, e's coming for us humans. I was really worried.
So geez! You lock a sex craving Vamp with his Latent maja, & they can't stay away from eachother. You have her watching him have wet dreams & having to eleviate her turn on herself & him smelling her when he wakes up. This ultimately draws him to her, like a dog sniffing butts! LOL! and yes, more great sex happens...
The goal is their escape & to stop the demons plot of enialation. In the mean time you gotta have the sex of your lives & fall in love! The back ground is all explained in a long drawn out conversation which ends up being the most boring part of the book.
I will say, that for an erotic novel, this has more depth & I was highly entertained surprised & got a good laugh even if it was supposed to be serious. I never really wanted Reese for my own, but I did want to be a witch with my own vamp! mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmm! Ha! "How's the horse? The one you got 'that' off of?"
A parallel universe with King Arthur and the knights and Vampires, Sideh, Fairies, even Unicorns and all kinds of creatures. This was a re-read and I loved it again. Got all my books for this series together to re-read them all. A really good series.
I have to say I was initially disappointed when I started reading this novel that I wasn't reading about Lancelot and his new wife Grace's story instead of Reece Champion and Erin Grayson's. Once I got past that, I liked the characters. The chain of events that finds them kidnapped and imprisoned together by an ancient evil Geiroff requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, but it is a good yarn and is provides a natural context for learning the rules of this fictional universe. Llyr, King of the Fairies, is a charismatic character and almost overshadows the main characters when he makes his entrance into the story. His lover Janeida's jealousy and its consequences add some unexpected twists and a poignant ending. Arthur and his fellow characters out of legend add texture but serve as no more than wallpaper.
Spoiler: I write this after finishing the entire series. A small gripe: When Reece explains that all Magekind and Latents are descended from the twelve of Arthur's Knights and Ladies of Court who drank from alien Merlin's Grail that transformed them to vampires and witches, he says that by her smell she is descended from Bedivere. In the novels that follow this, a full list is given of all 12 knights on at least three occasions. Bedivere is never listed. Although I've gone back and done searches in this novel using all 12 names from the lists, none of them show up as the forefather of Reece's bloodline. Did Knight never tell us that, or was it a lady of the court?
OK read, but I didn't love it. I didn't get too involved in this book until the second half, maybe because so much time was spent up front revealing the world and the situation the characters were in, although it was done in an interesting enough way.
The world is an intriguing one, with inter-dimensional guardian vampires such as Merlin and the knights of the Round Table and female mages trying to save humans from themselves as they work their way up the evolutionary ladder. (Sounds really bizarre when I write it down, but in the book, it works). The hero, Reece Champion, is one of the vampires, and the heroine, Erin Grayson, is a human who has the potential to become a Maja if the right, err, stimulus is applied by one of the vampires, say Reece.
The story describes how these two get involved, fight danger, and find a happy ending, as one would expect of a romance. Oh, and how they had sex. Lots and lots of sex. And then more of it. This book had me well-convinced of their compatibility in bed; I just wasn't quite as convinced of the their compatibility outside it. Still, I enjoyed it and will read the next one in the series. Maybe it will get going more quickly now that a lot of the world setup has already been provided.
i downloaded this book because i was in search of another audio book to keep me occupied while i was eagerly awaiting another. it wasn't terrible, nor was it the first for me by Angela Knight. the story line was ok. has vamps and some characters like King Arthur and Merlin was mentioned as well. it was kind of a time travel novel in the since that some characters from medieval days were around.
Knight did an ok job with the world building. i had to re-listen a couple times to understand the different groups and the roles they play. plus, at times it seemed like she would just allow a group to have special abilities to get the outcome she wanted. made it kinda ridiculous at times because some of the rules were broken. and let me not forget to mention the love scenes were great. this wouldn't be a series i'd just read one after another, but it's interesting enough to read in between audio books when i'm waiting on one to become available.
Another great installment ... hot, sexy, and fun! Highly recomennend this entire series.
The mageverse series is absolutely everything you want in a paranormal romance series. Almost every creature you can imagine, fantastic heroines and extremely sexy hero’s getting their HEA’s in creative and fun ways. Knight never drags out a couples coming together in infuriating unrealistic ways, just gives them heart pounding action to overcome. I highly recommend this entire series, one of my favorites!

I picked this up because I was intrigued by reading some short stories set in this universe over the last couple years. I still like the premise but think this book lacks focus, veering from light humor to raunchiness to magical war. It sparked silly associations in my mind at times, with terms like Mageverse Fever (I think it's goin' around ) and Truebond (better than super glue?) sprinkled throughout. Some of the dialog also sounded clunky to my ear. I think I'll try one more book in the series to see if I can get into it.
This book was cheesy and repetitive. I forced myself to finish it, though I didn't really care either way - I like the time warrior story better, and will go back and read the 1st in that series... not sure if I would continue on with this series, just seemed bland, and very little int he way of a real story... oh well.
this book was pretty awesome...the storyline was quick and sucked you right in... the world was amazing, and it just drew you in. And the action and the sex scenes were masterful. I love how this author's world mixes avalon into it's own demension and mixes it with earth as we know it now. Now to move onto the rest of the series.
Paranormal is so much fun. I enjoyed following this series from this author. A must read for any and all paranormal lovers everywhere. Erin Grayson is a woman that is assigned to seduce a man named reece Champion and his also happens to be a vampire. Things get pretty interesting in this book.
It’s an alright book, which sprouts from the telling of King Arthur and the knights of the round table, with a dash of magic (magic being that women are witches and the men are vampires).
Unfortunately I don’t think I will continue with the series.
The plot may be rather cheesy and uneventful, but this book is quite a scorcher. If you're looking for a light read with a lot of spice, here's a good pick.
There is a parallel world attached to our earth called the Mageverse. Centuries ago, an alien race came to earth in a missionary-type mission: they help young races to not kill themselves off by "gifting" people with their alien powers. In this particular story, Merlin and the Lady of the Lake were this alien couple, and they left behind Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table to be the protectors of the human race. Arthur and his kin are now immortal, with males becoming vampires and females witches. These individuals have the ability to live in both the Mageverse and human Earth, and work towards the mission of helping humans survive.
But when Merlin first came to the scene, there were other alien races already on the planet; one in particular was Geirolf - a thing that feeds on death and fear. He has escaped his prison (Merlin didn't believe in killing him) and now Geirolf wants revenge on the all of Mageverse. In order to perform his death spell to kill all of the vampires and witches in one shot, he needs one of each to kill at the same time. And so he kidnaps Reece Champion and Erin, a latent female, in an attempt to force Reece to turn her into a full witch - which has its own complications and political ramifications.
Because Erin has no knowledge of the Mageverse, this was a good story to start with to understand the world and allow it to build naturally, as Reece (and eventually others) had to explain to her what everything was or how things worked. It also set up at least one sequel as well. At times I think Erin accepted things a little too well, but overall it wasn't bad. And I think that's why this book only gets 3 stars... it wasn't bad, but it wasn't "oh my gosh this is amazing I need to keep reading it right now!" It was just an average paranormal romance. The sex scenes were numerous, and could be considered graphic/stimulating, but sometimes they were just cheesy too. Overall it was an easy read/listen and if I have nothing better to read I might move on to the next story eventually. It's just not high on my list.
4.5 stars. After reading some of the reviews, I wasn’t sure this would be a good book. I was pleasantly surprised because I loved it. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I felt the sex scenes were too drawn out.
I was introduced to the MageVerse series in a short story collection, where I read #5.5, Vampire’s Ball. I became intrigued & after a bit of searching, I found the series order list. I went back & read 2 short stories that are listed as prequels to the series: The Once and Future Lover and Seduction’s Gift.
The MageVerse series works off the Arthurian legend, & it’s a very creative take on it. The Once and Future Lover is about Arthur & Guinevere. Seductions’s gift is about Lancelot and Grace. To learn about how everything started, I recommend reading these two stories since Arthur, Gwen, Lancelot and Grace are secondary characters in Master of the Night.
Master of the Night is about the love story between Reece and Erin. Reese is a Vampire and Erin is a Latent. You’ll have to read these books to find out what that means. Happy reading!
For me, paranormal romance is really hit or miss -- Angela Knight's "Master of the Night" lands squarely in the middle for me. I loved the development of Reece and Erin throughout the novel as their love and romance grew, in spite of the demonic obstacles thrown in their way. Learning about the Mageverse was also fun and how its vampire, witch, and fairy inhabitants interact with one another and the humans they protect. "Master of the Night" was clearly setting up a good foundation for a series as the descriptions and information about the Mageverse were full of exposition and explanation that would've felt out of place in any other novel. The sex scenes were steamy and engaging, bringing the reader right into the action with Reece and Erin. Knight doesn't steer away from the physical description and approaches them with confidence, adding to the appeal of each scene.
I remembered this novel from when I read it the first time as a teenager and can definitely still appreciate it today.
I wasn't sure what to expect out of this story since I picked up the series at my local used book store. Overall, I did very much enjoy the book and the story. Interesting plot lines. Pretty likeable characters. And a big bad ugly to root against. I like how the author took the Arthur and Merlin mythology and changed it to be so much more. One of my favorite versions of the story now actually. Definitely far more interesting than the other stories based on Arthurian legends. Reece as a main character and love interest was perfect. I have a thing for the dark, tall, and mysterious. Erin was also a great character and I loved how the story ended up revolving fully around her. The instant love and true bond thing was kind of cliche and felt a little too quick, but, I did enjoy seeing how it came about and how it helped them win so far. Definitely will be reading the rest of the series because I want to see what else is happening in this world
