In each Geronimo Stilton book, another funny, cheesy adventure is always right around the corner. Each book is fast-paced, with lively full-color art and a unique format kids 7-10 will love.
When my friend Petunia Pretty Paws gave me a crystal figurine of a boat as a gift, I had to accept it. After all, I have the biggest crush on Petunia! But oh, was that crystal boat ugly! So I wasn't too sad when my cousin Trap accidentally broke it, especially when I discovered a piece of paper inside with a mysterious message from someone in Venice, Italy, asking for help! A gentlemouse never ignores a request for assistance. So I, Geronimo Stilton, would do whatever it took to save the day!
Elisabetta Dami is an Italian author that currently resides in Italy. She is the author of the Geronimo Stilton series, a bestselling childrens book. She enjoys traveling the world seeking ideas for her series. She writes under a pseudonym of Geronimo Stilton. She is also a co-owner of Italian based publishing company Edizioni Piemme.
I did not know these books were first written in Italian. These books seem to be designed to transition from easy readers to middle school books. Many of the words are in different colors and font styles and font sizes. This was really distracting and distruptive to a mature reader. The book is also full of pictures and occasionally info-boxes of real-life facts relating to the story.
This story features a mysterious note that leads Geronimo to Venice. There are gondolas and glassblowing and true love. There’s a lot of slapstick comedy. It was cute but best enjoyed by young readers.
The title of the book was not right I thought the title gave me a clue on what the plot is going to be I think when my sister was younger she would've read this book because of the title she loves murder mysteries , crime and thrillers (i asked her before writing this review she doesn't know why). But the plot will be something she wouldn't like as far as I know her. the only part I like was the last it as it was funny. the author should've changed the title to " love in Venice " because there was NO MYSTERY!!!!. I love mystery and similar genre books as my sister and my father. I think this is the worst book I have read. I think the title is insulting the word mystery. it feels as if the author thinks mystery means love. the author could have written the book better. I honestly feel that I should rate this book a 0 but I don't know if I can do that.
A very fun and easy book. This adventure situates us in Venise! Which I very much enjoy and appreciate. The illustrations are superb. I thought it was an interesting story. This one particularly focuses on romance which I found very sweet.
This series is so nostalgic for me. Please do not judge me as a 26 year old for reading a children’s chapter book okayyy. This is where my adventurous self started!!!
The book I read was The Mystery in Venice, I think the theme for this book is to not give up and try again even if you are having a rough time. The setting starts out at Geronimos house and then to a flee market, and then finally in Venice. The person who tells the story or should I say mouse is Geronimo Stilton, he usually tells all the stories. The main characters are Geronimo stilton, Thea Stilton, Trap Stilton, and Benjamin Stilton. Geronimo his sister and his friends go to the flee market but he doesnt want to go be he goes anyway, so then when he gets there he goes to look around. He sees a bejewled gondala and it lights up and sings, he thinks its the ugliest thing hes ever seen but then one of his sisters friends sees him looking at it. She buys it for Geronimo and gives it to him as a gift, but Geronimo really likes her so he doesn’t want to tell her he thinks its hidious. When Geronimo gets home is cousin Trap comes over but when Trap opens the door he bumps Geronimo and the gondala brakes and shatters into pieces. In one of the pieces of the broken gondala is a note saying “please help me” and its from Venice, thats when he knows that he has to go save her!
I think that this book is a very good book and in the story when Geronimo is in venice there is this lady who loves him but only because she thinks that hes vetnimese, but hes really not and hes trying to run away and avoid her but shes everywhere. I think that the lady whos chasing him is very crazy and also very rude and selfish because she wants a vetnimese man not anyother man. The characters in this book are very helpful and they are always there when anyone needs them. I think that they way the author writes his books are amazing. he starts them off as any oradanary day and then !BOOM! its just an adventure waiting to happen. Overall this book is a very good book.
Read with my 5yr old daughter, each reading about half. She liked the mystery and that Geronimo's friends and family helped him. She liked the special fonts used, which seemed to help her keep going when it was her turn to read. I thought the plot was a little lacking, but enjoyed sharing the informational pages with my daughter and telling her about my brief visit to Venice many years ago. That seemed to help her enjoy the story a little more.
In Geronimo’s 48th adventure, he ends up in Venice and attempts to help out a mouse in trouble while failing to learn to be a glassblower’s apprentice. There’s plenty of humor and adventure as Geronimo handles both unrequited, irritating love and a bet which requires him to enter an annual rowing contest called the Regatta delle Befane. Thankfully his family and friends come to the aid of the party, and everyone ends up just fine plus or minus a few crystal boats, but that’s just as well.
Geronimo discovers a mysterious message asking for help in a crystal figurine, he received as a gift from his crush. Which results in a trip to Venice. After going on quite an adventure, he knows he needs help, so he calls his friends to Venice to help him complete his mission. I really liked this book, it shows how someone helps forbidden love not be forbidden anymore. It is one of my favorite Geronimo Stilton books! looking forward for more books like this one!!
I liked how a stranger just falls in love with a person who comes to Venice. Something really funny is that Geronimo Stilton was trying to pick an outfit and he couldn't decide so he ended up with a ruffly yellow dress shirt, the usual green suit jacket, Bermuda shorts and mouse slippers. He looked pretty ridiculous.
I think if you really like funny books, Geronimo Stilton is the book for you.
I'm A fan of the Geronimo Stilton stories even though I'm 26 years old .. I have been collecting the series since it came out in KSA. Maybe because I learned english through stories, movies and songs, and I find it very helpful
This one is about helping people even if it was hard sometimes and true love ..
This is quite a nice book. A simple story filled with funny moments and good mystery! Especially the time when Geronimo is chased by his sudden crush! A good read though! Thanks! Sudhindra, Chennai
A summary that I would give of the history of the Mouse because the book is finished is that Stilton was a very funny mouse. And at the end of the book he says that Stilton returned home and although he was frustrated, tired, scared, nervous, sleepy, and very burned, he had a good time with his sister and his girlfriend Petunia. He really liked the trip. He liked to travel the world and that he had a great time. He even learned to speak a little of the language they speak in that country where he was traveling. And he liked traveling and everyone had a good time and that's where the book ends. There were 3 characters that changed. The first was Stilton, he became more hardworking and more loving and affectionate, Petunia, Stilton's girlfriend in the book, changed that he cooked more and began to make presentations about stories and stories, And Thea, Stilton's sister began to wearing other colors of clothing than just black and changing his taste in colors. If I change in an important way, it is in learning to solve my problems without always helping someone and being able to use the help resources that I have. I would recommend it to a person with depression because the book teaches you to be happier and to be able to solve your problems, which would help you get out of the problems that frustrate you and that you can have a happy and orderly life away from the problems.I would recommend it to a person with depression because the book teaches you to be happier and to be able to solve your problems, which would help you get out of the problems that frustrate you and that you can have a happy and orderly life away from the problems.
NOT A SPOILER BUT DONNO WHY THIS THING IS TELLING ME THAT THIS REVIEW IS A SPOILER
When I was in Year 3-4 (Grade 3-4 internationally) I was a big fan of this series....... I tthought this was the best series in the world but now when I reread this, I am not the biggest fan..... They are small books which are approximately 8,000-9,000 words. I have the habit of reading really thick books which have like 150,000 or so words because they have a better plot and these ones I can easily read them in 1-2 hours (of course I am a fast reader). These books also have a problem with their titles. Some times the title is completely different from the plot which makes it annoying when you realise that the book is not really about the topic.
I am not saying I don't like these books but they are okay. AND I DO RECCOMMEND TO CHILDREN YOUNGER THAN 10 YEARS OLD. Thought they are pretty good ones.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don't like these books. Honestly, I just don't. I don't know why. Maybe they're too cheesy or repetitive. I don't know. But I will say 1. My 6 year old LOVES them. And 2. I love how much they fit real facts and education into them. My 8 year old doesn't like them either, but we do write down some of the places and facts and research them later, so for that, at least I do appreciate them. They're great for their target audience (like my 6 year old). I'm just not the target.
I like this book except the part where the lady in the pink and polka-dot hat calls Geronimo Stilton "darling". Otherwise the book was pretty good especially the part where he burned his whiskers and tail while trying to make a crystal gondola! It is one of the funniest books I have read.
Did not complete reading this book as the book did not have a single doodling. It was all black and white, no colours. What worth reading is Geronimo without doodle and colours? Please do not experiment this kind of thing. I love the colours and doodles!
My 4 year old loved it and requested more Geronimo. Looks like he'll be a permanent addition to our repertoire. I enjoyed it as well - the format is fun, the informative bits are great and educational and it's very colorful.
This book was boring and it’s all about love. The lady who wanted to marry Geronimo was so annoying. The mystery was just about a mice named Hope who wanted to marry her lover but her uncle won’t let her, it just reminds me of some sort of love at first sight fairy tale. Therefore this book sucked.
I love the book, especially when Geronimo and his friends compete in the gondola race and I think it was funny when Geronimo saw the lady in his nightmares during the race that he rowed the gondola like windmills.
