Physics I For Dummies, 2nd Edition (9780470903247) is now being published as Physics I For Dummies, 2nd Edition (9781119293590). While this version features an older Dummies cover and design, the content is the same as the new release and should not be considered a different product.
The fun and easy way to get up to speed on the basic concepts of physics For high school and undergraduate students alike, physics classes are recommended or required courses for a wide variety of majors, and continue to be a challenging and often confusing course.
Physics I For Dummies tracks specifically to an introductory course and, keeping with the traditionally easy-to-follow Dummies style, teaches you the basic principles and formulas in a clear and concise manner, proving that you don't have to be Einstein to understand physics!
Explains the basic principles in a simple, clear, and entertaining fashion New edition includes updated examples and explanations, as well as the newest discoveries in the field Contains the newest teaching techniques If just thinking about the laws of physics makes your head spin, this hands-on, friendly guide gets you out of the black hole and sheds light on this often-intimidating subject.
y'all,,,i LOVE physics 💓✨💞💗🌙,,,like,,,,SO much,, so this book was excellent for me to brush up on my knowledge and understanding of many different aspects. i really like that it delved deep into some challenging topics that i've never encountered before - it made the book even more exciting.
Didn't really do much for me but then I figured I'd give it a try. If you are interested in this subject matter however it would be a book worth checking out.
I've always found physics interesting but never bothered to learn it, therefore, I very much appreciate this book because it has taught me so much that I did not know before. I am looking forward to Physics II For Dummies. I highly recommend this introduction to physics.
Pretty straightforward and not overly complicated. Most chapters are heavy on demonstrating example problems, I think I would've liked a bit more focus on concepts. Also, noticed a couple typos/errors in some places, but not a lot. Overall, good for a general overview (only for algebra-based physics, not calculus-based).
I haven't finished this book yet, but so far this book is one of the best book I came across. I am looking forward to study Physics II for Dummies and Quantum Physics for Dummies!
I found this book very helpful, especially for those who want a quick reference to what they have already learnt at school. But for Electicity and Magnetism part, it's quite challenging for me when suddenly tons of equations are being thrown at. It would be better if the author spent more time explaining the concepts before jumping into the equations. Overall, the book is quite informative.
This book wasn't all the helpful for me because I had to switch to calculus-based physics. I didn't get that far into the book, but it appeared that it was trig-based physics. I'm sure the book would be great for someone taking trig-based, I just picked up the wrong book.
I'm TERRIBLE with physics so I got this book to help me as a teacher when physics intersects with biology. It wasn't quite what I was looking for (more about forces, not as much about energy) and I really think my brain just turns off when it's presented with physics, so I just skimmed it.
