NEW RELEASE!! The Skinny On Jack book #2 in the humorous Jack B Smart cozy mystery series.
https://amzn.to/2Kg7S0q
Jacqueline Bouviér Smart, aka Jack B to friends and family, is an aspiring mystery writer and part time amateur sleuth who has once again sworn off men and murder.

Inheriting shares in a weight loss company over the holidays should be a good thing, not something that leads to bombs going off and your car getting blown up. Right? Jack B doesn’t think so. Nor does she trust on again, off again beau, Seattle Police Detective Stone Maddox to catch the culprits.

When she starts to investigate, she discovers more might be disappearing at the weight loss clinic than pounds. The owner has been missing for a few months. Before she can figure out what’s going on, her counselor dies. Then Stone gets involved, and his brother Duke, and three gun-totin’ grannies, and even her deceased ex-husband. Before Jack B knows what hit her, she’s up to her favorite hoop earrings in men and murder. Again.

More like 2.5 because of many spelling/grammar issues which I don't often find in HI novels. I was VERY disappointed in the editing of it. I am no author or editor by any means but if I can pick out these errors and they draw me out of the story then it's not a good thing. A few times even the completely wrong word was use; example once it should have been "accepted" and it was "expected" which made absolutely no sense in the context of the sentence. If they ever re-release or re-publish this book I hope they fix all of those kind of mistakes.
From the back cover I thought I'd love the book and I did love the idea of it and the hero. I wasn't overly connected with the heroine and she wasn't well written. She had very little character development and it seemed the author was a little wishy-washy in her writing of the heroine.
This is the first book by Adrianne Lee I've read so maybe she was just off on her writing for this one but I did not make me want to read any of her others.
I'm very familiar with the Colorado Confidential series but hadn't realized there were so many other sub-series to the the Harlequin Intrigue Confidential series which give me hope that this one book was just off and not the whole series.
