The New York Times calls Jerome Doolittle "a slick stylist. His characters have heft as well as high-definition color". Now Doolittle brings back P.I. Tom Bethany in his fourth mystery outing. Bethany holds a vitriolic right-wing reverend responsible for a troubled teen's suicide--and he is determined to get even.

#4 in the Tom Bethany series. Tom is an-ex college wrestler, very intelligent, a surreptitious part time Harvard student, and a knight-errant/detective as the need arises.

Tom Bethany's girlfriend Hope has an abortion and the clinic is put under siege by a fanatic group led by Senatorial candidate Reverend Howard Orrin. The siege and the attendant publicity leads to the death of an unstable young girl. Tom makes it his business for Orrin to pay.
