After reading Madeline Alexis' fantasy/horror fictional novels, I was surprised when I received this book of poetry. For an author that is extremely graphic and raw in descriptive style in her fiction, she is just as compassionate and loving when writing nonfiction. I have to applaud her yet again as she was fearless in exposing her heart, thus making her vulnerable in sharing such a personal collection of poems and letters. While some of the poetry was mediocer, the majority was extremely well written and though dark, it was plain to feel her pain and suffering as she wrote these pieces. Kudos to you Madeline for again showing the written world that you are a force to be reckoned with!
