Sometimes, what you need is just to scour archive.org's collection of books for an old romance paperback with an incredible cover that you can devour. Is this "good"? Not really.... Is it delightful? Yes, I think so. I do love a beleaguered couple when everyone else is trying to sabotage them and make them suffer in various ways and then they reunite in dramatic fashion on a battlefield, and then someone else accidentally poisons herself trying to thwart their romance.... that's very good, to me.
