Gloria Alvarez always wanted to become a writer. As a child, she was fascinated by books--everything from Mother Goose to biographies of Queen Elizabeth I. Once she could hold a pencil, there was no stopping her. She wrote poetry, short stories and songs. As an adult, she’s penned newspaper features, book reviews, even advertising copy. After winning the Romance Writers’ of America’s prestigious Golden Heart award, she sold her first romance novel, and she’s been writing them ever since.

Gloria believes in the power of love, as her own life proves. After graduating from Georgetown University, she worked for several years, but always in the back of her mind was the memory of her first high school sweetheart. Turned out he hadn’t forgotten her, either. Twelve years after their first date, they were married, and their romance continues two children and several books later.

Gloria loves to travel, searching out fascinating places and activities for her heroes and heroines. Her favorite destination is Mexico, where she still has aunts, uncles, and countless cousins.
