Ok for two stories. One story is a continuation from another book and one story includes bondage, submission, etc.

This book includes 3 stories described below.

3 stars for THE MASTERING by Jaid Black.
This is a continuation of the story in Death Row The Trilogy, and I suggest reading that first. Jaid Black fans will probably like The Mastering but it wasn't one of her best. It is set in the future where there are subhumans who kill and eat humans. Nicoletta is kidnapped by some men who plan to rape her and keep her. One of the subhumans rescues her from them. There is a relationship between her and the subhuman.


The author used my pet peeve of vague communication and inaccurate assumptions between the two lovers. Because Abdul was infected, he would change back and forth between being human and subhuman. When he felt love or strong emotions he became subhuman. He loved his wife but had to act like he didn't and caused her to hate him. He obtained a harem of wives during this time. This went on for 25 years. After he rescued her and she spent time with him as a subhuman, he told her the truth and then they stayed together and loved each other no matter what form he was in. I wished he would have told her this 25 years earlier instead of both of them living with emotional pain for all those years.

3 stars for MASTERED by Ann Jacobs.
If you're looking for a story with bondage, domination, submission and body piercings, you'll probably enjoy this. I personally prefer a little more character and story development. The author's objective was erotica, not story-telling, so it was fine for that purpose.

Police detective Rocky Delgado has been friends with prosecutor Sandra Giancone for a year or so. Then they become intimate and discover they are a perfect match, with her as the submissive.

1 star for A CHOICE OF MASTERS by Joey W. Hill.
The plot and characters were too vague and unbelievable for me to enjoy. It was too weird. It felt like a hallucinogenic dream.


As a teenager Lilith told a boy to fight and die in battle to prove he loved her. The young man did. His older brother was the magician Zorac who kidnapped Lilith and kept her in pain for 5 years as revenge for his brother's death. The form of pain was being sexually aroused at all times but never being able to satisfy it. The knight Thomas comes along and uses sexual activities and magic to free her.

Choice of Masters: Lilith is under the spell of a wizard. She is being used as a sex slave who is unable to achieve sexual release. Sir Thomas is in love with her and he he performs the sensual Ride of Awakening. Lilith has to accept him as her Master willingly to break the spell. This story is about love, trust and forgiveness.

Mastered: Sandra is a prosecutor who is always in control. She wants a man who can make a submit. Her friend Detective Rocky Delgado has been in love with her for years. He discovers Sandy's secret desire and begins a dominant/submissive relationship with her. The story was short but enjoyable. However I could have done without the body piercings.

The Mastering: Another short story. After her husbands death Nicoletta Kan can finally return to earth. The plane crashes and she is captured by a beast and she willingly submits to it.The beast seems familiar to her and she eventually finds out why.

This book was only ok. It contains Mastered by Ann Jacobs, Choice of Masters by Joey W. Hill and The Mastering by Jaid Black.

My favorite was The Mastering. I continue to be impressed by the sexy and imaginative stories of Jaid Black. She quickly drew me into the story and had me concerned and caring about the heroine.

Mastered by Ann Jacobs was my least favorite. There was a lot of telling and not much showing in this story. She tells us all about the friendship between the hero and heroine, but their actions don't really back it up. I also didn't find the Master/slave relationship to be particularly believable.

Choice of Masters is not my favorite Joey W. Hill story, but it was ok. The premise was interesting, but I just didn't quite get drawn into it.

I can't say that I liked it. I can only say that it was okay.

Mastered by Ann Jacobs was a good friends to lover story and for me was the best out of the three. I thought it contained most of what I liked in a short story.

A Choice of Masters by Joey W. Hill was an okay fairytale type story. It dealt more of the emotional angle than the sexual angle.

Death Row: The Mastering by Jaid Black was an okay Scifi/Paranormal type story. I figured the issue out way before the end and I didn't care for the layout of the story.

All in all they were okay reads. Definitely not the best by these authors but not the worst either.

Multi author anthology. With a name like Enchained, it's no surprise that these are BDSM stories.

Choice of Masters had the virtue of being unusual. Fantasy 3 stars

The Ann Jacobs story is part of the series Lawyers in Love. Contemporary 2 stars

The Jaid Black story is part of the Death Row series. Futuristic 3 stars

So-so read.

Really enjoyed this fast pace dark kinky book. Not a lot of court room action in it but didn't mind that. Multiple toys, piercing, bondage and BDSM. DO NOT READ IF NOT INTERESTED IN THE ABOVE.
