Featuring 150 simple and inexpensive embellishments for borders, edgings, and motifs, this ultimate bead embroidery resource contains a "basics" section that teaches the stiches and skills, and provides original designs, each accompanied by a close-up photograph and a placement diagram.
I borrowed this book from my local library as it is quite pricey on the secondary market. Written in 2006 it is a little out of date and whilst the basic instructions are quite useful, not really what I was looking for.
I found very little usable information in this nicely photographed book. It was more aimed at what I think of as "embellishment" rather than what I think of as "bead embroidery". This book gave lots of examples of adding a few beads in lovely patterns to the edges of scarves, and to one's lapels or cuffs. It's a great resource for this application, but I was looking for something more tailored to the stand-alone bead embroidered piece that doesn't let a scrap of the backing fabric show through. I did read it all, though, and it held my interest but didn't spark any desire to try the techniques.
Very helpful for beginners offering patterns up to proficient beaders. Some exquisite advanced designs. Borrowed from the library to try a different pattern. 2023.
