Real name: Jo Ann Vest
Pseudonyms: Joanna Wayne.

Joanna Wayne began her professional writing career with the release of her first novel, DEEP IN THE BAYOU, in 1994, but Joanna will be the first to tell you that the wheels were set in motion years before. She started reading at four years of age, the same age that she began making weekly trips to the library to check out as many books as they’d let her have, only to finish reading them all before bedtime. That love of books never waned.

Joanna was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and was the middle child of a large family. She moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1984 when she married her current husband. New Orleans opened up a whole new realm of activities and she found the mix of cultures, music, history, food and sultry southern classics along with her love of reading a natural impetus for beginning her writing career. It was there that she attended her first writing class and joined her first professional writing organization. From that point on, there was no looking back.

Now, forty published books later, Joanna has made a name for herself as being on the cutting edge of romantic suspense in both series and mainstream novels. She is known for the suspense and emotion she brings to the page, as she takes ordinary people and thrusts them into life-and-death situations. She has been on the Walden Bestselling List for romance and won many industry awards. She is a popular speaker at writing organizations and local community functions and has taught creative writing at the University of New Orleans Metropolitan College.

She currently resides in a small community forty miles north of Houston, Texas with her husband. Though she still has many family and emotional ties to Louisiana, she loves living in the Lone Star state.

Professional bull rider Dakota Ledger was a loner who liked moving from town to town on the rodeo circuit and not settling down. That was working well for him until the day he rescued Viviana Mancini. They'd had a brief passionate encounter a while back making it more important than ever for him to help her out now. Viviana was in deep trouble with a killer after her and her baby - the one she never told Dakota they had. Dakota would do anything for Viviana and their baby so he took them to his estranged father's ranch where he knew he could protect them.

This is such a well written book that it is addictive! In this suspenseful book, Dakota is trying to keep Viviana and their daughter safe from a killer. Overall, the writing was fantastic and the characters! The characters were wonderfully written. I loved the chemistry between Dakota and Viviana.

Cowboy Fever is a great book that I highly recommend.

Loner Dakota Ledger was a bull rider at heart until the day he rescued Viviana Mancini. Their past was littered briefly with passion they'd both shared but she was in trouble now--and so was the little girl she'd never told him they'd had.

With a killer on their heals, Dakota would do anything to protect her and their baby even return to his estranged father's ranch. There he could protect them both but he couldn't protect himself. Dakota was faced with two threats--the killer on their trail and the woman and child he loved more than life itself.

Another amazing installment of the Sons of Troy Ledger series.

This is a 5 book series "The Sons of Troy Ledger". Troy Ledger was convicted of killing his wife. He was sentenced to life in prison but got out on a technicality. He has returned to his ranch. He was found guilty with no hard evidence but he was so devastated by her death he didn't fight to prove his innocence. The courts took his 5 sons and gave them to the murdered wife's parents. They separated the brothers with different family members. After 17 years the boys are coming home with lots of issues. Each book is the story of one of the brothers. There is so much going on with the sons and women they meet and Troy trying to get his family back and find the murderer of his wife. Awesome read! Loved it. This story belongs to Dakota the youngest, and a bull rider.

Dakota rushes to the rescue of a woman being car-jacked and comes face-to-face with the love of his life. Dakota and Viviana had 6 days of magic that resulted in a baby Dakota didn't know about. When he finds out that Viviana and his baby are being hunted by a sadistic murderer he goes home to The Willow Creek ranch to keep them safe. Facing his father and the past are almost as scary to Dakota as bringing down a killer. Viviana finds the family she's always wanted for herself and her child but, will Dakota be a part of it too?

I guess I expected more of this book. When the audience learned that Dakota was abused as a kid, I thought that his father and Viviana would react more strongly and express more sympathy and compassion. It was more of touch and go, like, oh yeah, that happened, moving on.
Meh.
And the plot wasn't that invigorating. Sigh. Maybe the next one.

A truly have the tissues on hand kind of book. A handsome Rodeo Cowboy with a troubled past and falls all over again with a beautiful Doctor that he was with several months ago, when he lands back at the hospital only to find she has someone trying to kill her. If that's not enough he gets to see his beautiful baby daughter for the first time and is floored but, that doesn't last long because the danger keeps coming and the only place to go and keep his new family safe is back to where it all began in Mustang, Texas and the father that went to jail for.
