Read an older iteration of this book. Still some general knowledge that is helpful, but very dated in some areas. Quick read and nice prep as we get ready for our new pup, but would not say that it was complete enough to read as it’s own. Maybe the updated version is worthy, but at 20+ years old there is just too much cultural changes around the breed standard that just don’t hold true any longer as written. Lots of cute pictures though.

Good foundation about the Boxer and the committment it takes to raise a stead, well mannered puppy. It gives details on the cost of raising a puppy through its first year. It can be expensive for vet, dog supplies, dog-training and the book is honest that this breed is not for everyone. It is a good book to have for reference if you are a Boxer owner.

Pretty good! The part addressing the history of the Boxer was interesting and there is definitely good information in the book. At a couple moments it felt off around issues I consider dated (the use of shock collars, for example), but otherwise solid advice for new dog owners.
