A richly textured, passionate portrait of the relationship between Oscar Wilde and Lord Alfred Douglas and its tragic repercussions is set against the decadent, vital world of 1890s London and Paris
Robert Reilly has worked as a musician, a rock-climbing guide, and a maximum-security prison guard. His memoir ‘Life in Prison: Eight Hours at a Time’ won a Silver Medal at the 2015 IBPA Awards for Best New Voice and was a finalist in the memoir category at the 2015 Maine Literary Awards.
Magical. A novel that breaths rarefied air in terms of beauty and range of expression. The ending was especially beautiful where Oscar meets up with a young man in heaven who is the exact simile of the love he has been searching for throughout his trials on earth after converting to Catholicism at the end of his turbulent life. I would recommend this book highly to anyone who enjoys good writing.
