A cultural and economic view of one of the many reminders of baseball past, Doubleheaders goes deep into the historic and practical consequences of one of baseball's more fabled relics. While it has its dry moment, the book is clearly a love over a treasured heirloom passed from one generation to the next. While it is unlikely that the doubleheader will make a comeback, it's legacy as one of its many gifts of language and culture of the sport is assured
