To Love a Wilde

Rate this book
After winning the coveted Top Young Chef award, Yasmine Taylor is finally going to realize her lifelong dream of opening her own restaurant.

But first she's returning home to help her aunt recover from surgery and to plan her own next move. Yasmine has never forgotten her roots growing up on the Wyoming Wilde ranch, or Holt Wilde, her gorgeous teenage crush. He's grown into a sinfully sexy bad boy who's left a trail of broken hearts scattered across the West.

Seeing Yasmine again is like a one-two punch to Holt's heart. Lassoing a steer is nothing compared to the way the sensual city slicker is roping him in. The shy tomboy is now a stunning, successful woman being pursued by powerful men. Can Holt convince her that his rowdy days are over? Is Yas ready to be branded his woman--for now and always?

This is book two in the Wilde in Wyoming series. It was an enjoyable read. What I did not find enjoyable was the grammatical mistakes and content mistakes. The grammatical mistakes were rampant throughout the text. Prior to reading the first book in this series, I expected so much more for a Harlequin Press. In reading Harlequin Presents for many years, I never remember grammatical mistakes to this level. I assumed, incorrectly, that Harlequin would take pride in anything that had the Harlequin seal.
The content errors where appalling. Is the name of the Wilde Boy's father Jed or Clint Wilde? In the previous book it was Clint but in this one, it is Jed. In the prevous book, Dr Crandall's daughter's name is Yasmine. That is the heroine's name in this text. On page 106, Althea is now married to Nate. In that same chapter, I think that Nate's name is used instead of Holt's or the paragraph is poorly written. I was not sure who hires the kitchen help, Lilly or Nate. On page 107, the credit is given to Lilly and then the credit is given to Nate.
I also got lost in time, as I like to call it, in quite a few places. In chapter 3, Yas is able to smell Holt's light aftershave. Now, unless I missed a sentence or two, didn't Holt leave another woman's bed and pick Yas up? By my thinking, he should smell like sex since there was no mention of him taking a shower. In chapter 9 on page 89, everyone breaks for lunch and Holt goes to the kitchen. But on page 95 in the same chapter, Yas is just fininshing up lunch. I got so lost in the sex scene in chapter 13. Not sure how many times they had sex, the positions, is Holt awake or sleep, how much time do they stay in the barn? And while it is not too big of a deal that I'm lost, I think the author was also. Chapter 15 has antoher lost-in-time episode. On page 161, "Last night he took her to his bedroom and kept her there all night." On page 157, she slept wiht Winnie-the-Pooh.
The author really built up the conversation that would occur once Yas and Holt woke up regarding her virginity and what hot sex session meant. And then, nothing. (Insert crickets chirpping here.)Not one mention of it.
While the beginning of my review is negative, there are some things I enjoyed. Like how the first chapter starts out with a hot bondage fantasy. Very nice. I also enjoyed how Yas goes from spying on a young Holt and female in the barn to being the last woman he takes to the barn. I also enjoyed the love triangles with Yas, Holt and Jake and the other one with Yas, Holt and Clayton. Enjoyed the update on Nate and Althea. Also really enjoyed how the women got along. I also liked this book better than the previous one.

This was not so bad of a read, I don't think many people like the first book in the series for Nate ( To tempt a Wilde) I didn't think it was that bad, but this book To love a Wilde with Holt i think it took too long to get into for me. The story started with the building up of the characters but I felt it drag a tiny bit, with saying that I still like the read and story line.

Not usually a reader of romance, though I've read a few-read this for my reader's advisory class. Had seen the book pass through the library many times and found the male model on the cover attractive, and liked the idea of interracial romance. Interestingly, not much is said at all in the book to indicate the two main characters are interracial. Have to say I do like a book where love prevails, even though it's not necessarily realistic. But then, I'm a cynic when it comes to love. Quick, steamy read. Oh, and it is also interesting to see the differences in how a female author describes sex scenes versus a male author.

To date book one in the Wilde seies is my favorite. Book two dragged with no real mystery, drama or adventure.

This book is really good, I read it when I was much younger and it became the book that cemented who Kimberly Kaye Terry was in my mind. I've never forgotten how wonderfully sweet and well written this book is and I quite enjoyed the steamy stuff too ;) Although its the second in the series it can be read as a stand alone and I really like that (that goes for the other books in the series as well).

I don't usually read this authors books because they're basically sex books but this seemed safe and sounded interesting. I thought I would read about this strong woman who was going to give this Wilde brother, in more ways than one, a run for his money, you know, to show him she loved and respected herself too much and won't be an easy lay like the rest of the women he's been with,no matter how she feels about him, let him work for it...wrong!!

everyone is greeting her, they're having a few glasses of wine, she sees he is with someone, I don't care if he didn't love the woman and only using her for sex, he's there with someone else.
she goes outside for air, he follow one thing leads to another and if that woman hadn't come looking for him, they would be having sex right there by the stables her first night back.In this instance what makes her better than the blonde. she is a grown woman who has the self control of a child. Damn shame.

I really give up, it seems in most cases the black or multicultural heroine isn't allowed to have self control, self respect or morals, but hey, she is having all the sex she wants, love sure doesn't come into it, that takes actually emotion and these two the only emotion seemed to be centered between their legs, one long one night stand.

Oh, and I was lied to, this is a smutty book, everything between them is based on sex. Aren't the black or non white heroines in any of these ir books deserves to treated better than a man's sex toy?

After being disappointed with To Tame A Wilde, I wanted to give the author a chance to redeem herself. This is strike two. The only thing working for these two is SEX! Also, the author made a boo-boo. The Wilde brother's foster dad was Clint, not Jed. Yes, I paid attention. As far as I can understand about Holt is his package spoke louder than his brain which, in this case, was out to lunch. He was Jasmine's first experience yet treated it as if it were nothing. That showed a lack of respect for Jasmine and her aunt, Lilly who practically raised the Wilde boys. Shame, shame on him

This 2nd book's storyline was okay. I liked the steamy scenes in the story. I liked reading about Nat & Althea. I just felt the sexual attraction between Yasmine & Holt. I didn't feel the passion or the relationship between Holt & Yasmine. I think To Tempt a Wilde is much better than this one.
