I used this text for an intro to Latin American culture and civilization, and I found it very useful. Although it can be rather dry, the language is clear and accessible to students who are learning "content" (rather than grammar, vocab, etc.) for the first time in Spanish. I supplemented with newspaper articles, video clips, and short stories.

This was probably my favorite textbook out of all the textbooks I've ever had to read for a class. This book was very easy to read and it condensed a lot of important information into a manageable amount of pages.
