Rachel McAllister tried to dissuade Rory Callahan’s interest, she’d been hurt by love too many times before, but Rory had been as relentless as a dog after a bone. She gave in, but made one thing perfectly clear from the start—no sex until she said, “I do.” If Rachel knew one thing about men, it was that you gave them what they wanted—sex—and they’d be out the door before the sun came up. Rory has passed all her tests and jumped through her hoops to prove his love. They’re ready to say, “I do”, and Rachel’s ready to erase any of Rory’s lingering regrets about waiting to have sex.
Rory fell head over heels for Rachel at first sight. Getting her to date him was another matter altogether. He’d followed all her rules and has barely complained about her strict moral code. Now he’s going to marry her for better or worse. He’s about to find out his goody-two-shoes bride-to-be is a fiery vixen who’s too hot to handle.

It is the night before Rachel and Rory’s wedding, and the bride and groom feel a bit tense. Because Rachel has had her share of romantic bad luck, she swore off sexy times until marriage. And her found in Rory a man willing to go along with it. I KNOW! And you thought sparkly vampires were a fantasy. Anyway. So Rachel and Rory are ready for their honeymoon night, only Rachel feels a little uptight, whereas Rory feels a little, well, horny. Rachel’s grandmother tells her to get jiggy with Rory, only Rachel wants to stick to her plan. Instead, she whips out Vic, the vibrator given to her by her best friend. Just as Rachel and Vic begin to get comfy, Rory calls her for a little “I love you” talk as the two settle in for their last night as single people. Before you can say, “Take me, I’m yours,” Rachel and Rory engage in some hot phone sex, Rory by himself and Rachel with Vic’s assistance. The next day, Rachel feels embarrassed and worried. What if Rory dumps her because she seems slutty? Oh, Rachel. Do not worry about THAT, girlfriend. Rory is all about you right now, and he cannot rip that wedding dress off of you fast enough. But then a storm comes a’brewing, and our happy couple need to make do somewhere other than their hotel honeymoon suite, which is rendered a danger zone by hotel management. Those crazy love birds are nothing if not inventive, though, and make use of an elevator and a bathroom. The point of this novella is not developing meaningful characters or asking big questions of life. The point is SEX, and Stormy Wedding delivers. Kelli Scott writes some steamy sex scenes, and when Rory and Rachel rock the headboard, they do it with great passion. The sex is fairly standard fare – no BDSM or anal, although both are somewhat addressed – but there is a lot of oral. A LOT. Not that I’m complaining, because it’s HOT oral sex. All of the sex here is hot. So if you want a quick, steamy read, this is a very good choice.
Rachel McAllister was burned by sexual relationships in the past and the vixen within became hidden by the prudish image she worked hard to perfect. With a crazy family that includes a cheating father, the prude queen mother, and a vixen grandmother, Rachel’s opinion about sex and marriage was tangled between following her mother’s prudish views or her grandmother’s vixen advice. She built up walls around herself and Rory Callahan knocked them down. The characters were enjoyable and humorous. The beginning was so humorous it reminded me of something written by bestselling author Janet Evanovich. The sex wasn’t as hot or steamy as I expected, but it was still sweet. I admit, the plot seemed to drag a little but for a debut novel, Kelli Scott shows a lot of promise writing romantic comedies and sweet eroticas.
Stormy Wedding Stormy Wedding - Rachel and Rory (Oh, I do love that name LOL) have remained celibate during their courtship. She's had the jerk boyfriends who left right after she gave in and had sex with him. He's had cheating girlfriends. Waiting seemed like a good idea at the time. Now, the night before their wedding, Rach is dealing with parental issues and there's that whole wife versus girl you want to f*c# going on. Add a massive storm, damage to the inn, and an make-do honeymoon suite in the ladies room, there's some really hot sex going on. Engaging characters, a fun story, and hot sex makes for a fun read.
This book has a great blend of romance, heat, and humor. It's not a cookie-cutter book. There aren't many others out there I can compare it to. The heroine has been used for sex before and has determined not to have sex again before marriage. You don't really see that too often in romance. You see heroines who shy away from their sexuality because they've had bad sex, or been sexually abused, etc., but you just don't see the (probably) much more common scenario of women who've just felt plain used by a man. I found it refreshing.
Very enjoyable read with colorful characters and just the right amount of humor. It had a tendency to drag during the middle, but besides that, I really liked reading “Stormy Wedding”.
