A very handy guide both for those just starting out on the riding path as well as those that have trodden it for a while, this book covers the basics of horse and stable care and what to look for in a riding school and lessons to the more complicated matters of learning to ride and control your horse to jumping and competing. It includes the profiles of some exemplary yooung riders and their achievements as well as what you as a rider need to demostrate and achieve in the Pony Club tests (although I don't know how much this may have changed in the interim, or even if they still do them).
