Thoroughly enjoyed reading about the stories, games and history of the competition. Some real underdog stories and others of complete dominance. The FIFA World Club Cup just doesn’t have the same spark and charm, perhaps too convoluted? And given the fact that commercial and financial factors seem to be the reason the competition was expanded and “improved”, just again reiterates that football is moving away from being a sport enjoyed by all to a business. Negatives of FIFA aside, it was a very insightful and enjoyable read

Took me a while to get this book but was worth the wait. Great read. Loved reading about the different combinations of teams in the European and Libertadores finals and then the Intercontinental. Great stories well told.
