Through engaging anecdotes and real-life examples, Sandel challenges us to critically examine our own assumptions and beliefs about justice.
One of the strengths of the book is Sandel's ability to present complex philosophical concepts in a clear and accessible way. He skillfully breaks down dense theories and ideas, making them easy to understand for a wide range of readers.
Another notable aspect of the book is Sandel's emphasis on the importance of public deliberation and debate in shaping a just society. He argues that a truly just society is one in which individuals have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with one another and to reflect on their own values and beliefs.
While some readers may find Sandel's approach to justice overly idealistic or abstract, his emphasis on public deliberation provides a valuable framework for considering complex issues surrounding justice in the modern world.
Overall, Justice: What s the Right Thing to Do?, is a thought-provoking and engaging exploration of the concept of justice. It is an excellent read for anyone interested in ethics, philosophy, or social justice issues.

Interesting read. Filled with moral dilemmas--many that most of us have thought about (abortion, inequality, immigration) and many that were interesting but that I hadn't thought about (e.g., should vets suffering from PTSD be awarded the Purple Heart). Kept you turning the pages.
The readers praise Michael J.Sandal for his lectures, his being as 'a spellbinding philosopher'. Why does his philosophy gain so much attention compared to other long, complex ones? Michael J.Sandal deals with philosophy that is related with our society- as societies become democratic, the importance of justice and injuctice grows.
Is unique compared to other books since it focuses on modern-issue-related philosophy. This ables the readers to focus more by questioning the society and themselves. It provides realistic problems for the reader to think, and question-requiring more concentration and thought while reading this book. Contains not only real real cases related with 'testing your morality' or asking the reader to decide', it also contains moral dillemas that makes the reader decide 'the right thing to do'. For example, the most imposing story, 'the runaway trolley'- basically makes the reader to decide if to sacrifice one worker and save 5, or either sacrifice 5 to save one is the right action to take by determining the direction of the runaway trolley. Here, moral principles: to save as many lives as possible and it is wrong to kill an innocent person conflicts- putting the readers in dillema. As it may seem rather difficult and boring to read, the issues addressed in this book is all somehow related with our societies-the questions of political philosophy. However, by questioning one's moral values, as readers go through the book, I believe that the readers' 'right thing to do' may change, depending on the perspective you take as you read the book. By dealing with ethical/moral issues that are hard to make a decision and also related with our society, , unlike other books lets the readers think over their moral values and their virtue. Also, by constantly giving readers information and the reason to think, I think this is what makes this book different from others.
This is a great general primer for us non-political scientists who really want to understand more about the reigning theories of justice. Definitely worth the read, complelling and though-provoking.
