Ava has been on the run for the past two years from her psychotic ex-boyfriend, he is the right hand man for a senator and treated Ava with as much respect as you would a dog. Communicating with his fists as much as his degrading words, she had no choice but to run. Living a life, or rather surviving until the day she is dragged back, Ava finds refuge at a strip club dancing as Lily, but two years of no support, no friends or family to call on, starts to take a toll, so why not, just this once, give into the lust she finds in a repeat customer, one who watches with hooded eyes. Just one night of false comfort and security, what could possibly go wrong…
Kade Gavin is a PI, ex-army man, who ” couldn’t let himself care. That wasn’t part of the job. Caring. All he needed to do was seize the target, deliver it to its destination, take the money, and never look back.” He is finding it difficult to separate his job from his need to protect, plus his dick isn’t getting the memo, who is he to deny giving a girl what she wants ?!? Kade’s under the impression this is a one night deal, but who is he kidding this woman found a way under his thick skin
Drama begins to unfolds, when her ex-boyfriend is non-to-happy at how long it is taking to find her taking matters into her own hands, trouble at the club and with Kade’s competition.
This was fast paced and never let up, kept me reading just to see what happens. Everything happens in a span of a couple days, so I’m warning you now, you will roll your eyes at how things develop. These two had such a sexual relationship that quickly evolved to more in such a short period of time. And just when you think, she’s pretty much had it, her body betrays her … totally unrealistic but instead of sitting there complaining, I was quickly distracted with another turn of events that I couldn’t really dwell on it. I was just happy I picked this read up and it held my interest, my two previous reads weren’t that lucky and went back in the TBR pile. I wouldn’t mind checking out more of the author’s work.

Such a sassy girl, she was. Kade loved it. She was a woman he could verbally spar with without getting bored— the kind that would bite back when bitten.

Lying to her, drugging her, kidnapping her, and now holding her against her will. It was pointless to try to salvage his morality now.
He couldn’t let her go. Wouldn’t. She’d have to forgive him. God, he hoped she would.

This book was a surprise as I picked up because of a sale and wasn't expecting much but is actually turned out to be a great romance read where the sex is super hot. In fact there was one scene that ive never read before... Can't say I've ever read lube used like that.
My first book by this author but it will not be the last.
I will say that after learning more about Lucy I was surprised that she and Kade had a relationship or that she sent Jax on his way. I do wonder what happens with Poppy...
It hard to say more about the aspects of what I enjoyed without giving too much away. It's just one of those stories where you want to say more but can't and allow the next reader the same enjoyment and surprises the I enjoyed.

Ava is on the run from her abusive ex Zach, doing the last thing she thought she would, stripping. A man unlike the other sleazes comes into the club and she is intrigued, as is he. Kade is a PI hired by Zach to find his ex but unsure why. He thinks Ava might be her but isn't sure due to her new hair and eye color. He has to find the real Ava and thinks Lily is her but is starting to question Zach's motives and is considering protecting her even though it could cost him his job and reputation.

This is the first book from Lia that I have read and it is a fantastic read. The chemistry between Kade and Ava is electrifying and the plot had plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engrossed in the book making this a definite must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When he spends the night with her in his motel room, he begins to doubt whether he’ll be able to complete the job and turn her over. For the first time in years, he’s discovering he still has a heart after all.
A woman on the run, a man hired to find and bring her back, a powerful abusive asshat, all make a pretty decent story. Ava is a bit too naïve for me and she lets Kade off far too easily in my opinion. As far as Kade goes, well, I like him sometimes and not very much at others. His behavior borders on being abusively controlling and that makes him not much better than Zack in my mind. I felt he had no respect for Ava and she let him have his way with her even after he betrayed her. Plus, he lied to her, didn’t explain anything to her and didn’t seem very sorry about it. Yet, there were times when I liked him. He almost seemed bipolar in personality. Anyway, the secondary characters are passable and though the ending seems farfetched, all-in-all I found this story to be an ok read.

I got this book free on Amazon and it was well worth the read. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this at first since some scenes were played out in a strip club... not one of my favorite places... but I felt pain for Ava being forced to work at the strip club to be hidden from her abusive ex-boyfriend Zack, who was very possessive over her. I totally fell in love with Kade and the way he helped Ava try and get away from Zack. My gosh... I wish I knew a Kade that could take me away from my world!!! He was so loving, possessive, and dominant. Loved the scene with the ice cube! As always I love the HEA stories, however, I wasn't sure at first this was going to be that book, but the surprise ending made it worth the read. Many hot scenes take place throughout the book.

I picked this book up on Amazon for free a few weeks ago. The synopsis caught my attention & seemed like the perfect book to read in between all the heavy and emotion books I was reading at the time.
This book was light yet steamy. I enjoyed the characters & it held me attention. I was constantly wondering what was going to happen & the book was paced well. There was one point where I thought it might begin to drag but it never did for me.
I do feel this is a book that if you are in the mood for a book that is sexy, light and has a little bit of action this will fit the bill.
My one comment is I wish the author would come out with a book that is Poppy's story!! Maybe add Jax in... pretty please (:

Throughout predictable but an enjoyable read. Sort of felt like you were missing part of the story as things started to unfold but I caught kn and ended up really enjoying it. One of the better free reads I have had.

I skipped ahead of my TBR list on my Kindle and jumped straight to 5 other books I got today. Four weren't worth the time it took me to read them and then I found a little gem that was published 2 years ago and is free at the time of the posting, Stripped Defenseless.
Starting off, this is definitely not a book for the under 18 crowd. Lots of steamy moments right from the first couple of pages. Lots o’ heat in this book.
I loved it. Obviously it was a fast read if I read it along with 4 other books today. 204 pages in total.
I wouldn’t technically call what Ava is dealing with Stockholm Syndrome. She technically liked her captor, A LOT, before he captured her.
What is about the tall strong alpha man that has your average female turned into a drooling mess on the floor? I’m talking us as the readers, not the main character. I don’t know about you, but logically, I don’t care how hot you are, I don’t think I would ever put up with what some of the lead females in my favorite books do. Ask my husband, he’s good looking, 6”2’, Latino, well built, he knows what I’ll put up with and what I won’t put up with. I’m rarely a puddle of drool on the floor. (I probably should be, shouldn't I?)
Yet here I am reading about Kade, a man who is paid to kidnap and deliver his targets, one of which is our sweet little Ava, and saying yummy.
Gah.
What is that?
Any men reading this post, if you’d like to give me your thoughts on that subject, I’d love to hear them.

I had my normal” how can someone fall in love that fast and know it’s going to last” thoughts as it became apparent where this was going, but I pushed it aside for that love at first sight we all want to believe in. It’s a hard fast romance novel, there is no time for my normal reservations I would have in real life.
Steamy, fun, fast read with a twist at the end that I didn’t see coming at all.
I’m not telling.
It didn’t break my heart because I didn’t believe the author would do that to us. I know some authors would, but I had faith this book wasn’t going to end that way.
I was happy when it was over, not that it was over, but that it ended the way I hoped.
I hate sad endings. Always always want a HEA (happily ever after).

I made it to 30% on my kindle and then skimmed to the end. It just didn't hold my interest. It started off with the 2 main characters having sex right away, and then having allot of sex, allot of different times. I know it is labeled an erotic romance and I don't have a problem with the sex per se (actually it was in my opinion very well written); the problem I had is that I didn't feel like I knew, was not emotionally invested in and really couldn't have cared less about the characters - so the sex was boring. And there was allot of it. Then amidst all the sex, there was love - not sure how or why, and didn't really care.There was also some sex between secondary characters that I cared even less about (if that was possible). I won't say that aspects of the plot were far fetched, but I will say that there were several situations where Ava made what I would consider to be exceedingly stupid decisions.

I liked this book a lot. I normally don't like the insta love aspect, but this was doable. Ava is on the run from her crazy ex. Seems she's run right into the arms of Kade, a hunk of man that anyone would be willing to entertain until the wee hours of the morning... Let me be honest, entertain for the rest of your life!!! Unbeknown to her, he is the one sent to take her back to her bat shit crazy ex. Unbeknown to Kade is why exactly does her ex want her back?
This book was a great read. It gives you mystery, suspense, sexy and interesting auxiliary players that leave you wanting expanded stories about them.

There's no lack of kink in Fatal Exposure, and Slater uses every opportunity and then some to deliver enough bang for the buck in this tale. Ava's on the run from her abusive ex, Zack, and figures she can hide in plain sight as a stripper in a sleazy strip joint. Kade's been sent by Zack to find Ava, but he doesn't figure falling for sassy target. But saving Ava from a powerful, dangerous man is hardly a cakewalk, as Kade discovers. At times the purple prose does creep in but on the whole Slater keeps the story fast-paced and engaging.

If you like a lot of sex this the story is for you. There is a small portion that is the plot. One thing I didn't like is that Poppy got away with the money. I think her and Jax should have been caught and arrested and the money taken away from them.
