J. D. Cooper had left no stone unturned when investigating a cold case that hit much too close to home. Or so he'd thought. Thanks to small-town deputy Natalie Becker, new evidence had surfaced that might lead J.D. closer to the truth. But Natalie had a stake in this situation, too, and claimed that joining forces was their best strategy, and their best hope. Problem was, after years of working alone to solve a seemingly unsolvable crime, J.D. found himself distracted by his beautiful partner and her passion for doing the right thing. He'd never met anyone like her and that scared him as much as
I was raised in Alabama, so I know we Southerners don't hide our crazy people—we showcase them. Eccentric people make for the best stories, and we Southerners do love our stories. The need to tell stories has been a driving force in my life from childhood.
As a girl, my favorite books were mysteries and romances. When I realized there were books that featured both romance and mystery, I knew I'd found my calling. Now I get to play both matchmaker and murderer and get paid for it. Could there be a better job anywhere?

Paula Graves is one great writer for Harlequin Intrigue Romance. She puts you their with the family's as they go through what is happening to them in the store. In Cooper Vengeance book 7 in ( Cooper Justice Series ) this family comes a long way in dealing with the death of one brothers wife's death and in one brothers dealings with a very very bad Cartel that wants the whole family dead. It comes to a very high climax at the end and a happy ending for all the family.
J.D. Cooper was a man seeking justice and he left no stone unturned when investigating a cold case that hit far too close to home. Small-town deputy Natalie Becker proved him wrong when new evidence surfaced that just might lead J.D. closer to the truth. Natalie had a stake in this situation as well, and agreed to join forces for the good of the mission. Problem was that J.D. had spent so many years working alone to solve this case, that he found himself distracted by his beautiful partner and her determination to right a wrong. He'd never known anyone like her and that frightened him as much as the unidentified killer--until Natalie became his next target.
A fabulous addition to the Cooper Justice series. It sounds like it could be the final installment but I certainly hope that it isn't.
Loved every minute of this series. JD Cooper is stuck in the past forever doomed to try and solve his wife Brenda's murder. He returns to her home town to follow a new lead, and finds himself entangled with Natalie Becker the one person that might understand his pain and obsession. Natalie has just lost her beloved sister to a brutal murder that appears to be very similar Brenda Cooper's death 12 years ago. Very exciting story. Read all of the Cooper Justice, and Cooper Justice/Cold case Investigation in order because you don't want to miss a moment of this series.
Natalie Becker was looking for who murdered her sister, and J.D Cooper was looking for who murdered his wife. He has suspicions that it was the same person. He convinced Natalie to team up with him. They did work together, but agreed to disagree at times. This book was full of danger, and suspense. It played with my emotions, choking me up a few times. There are not many books that make me cry, but this one did. The author did an excellent job with this book, bring you into the story making it seem so real.
5 Gold stars plus 1million more for an outstanding Author. Paula Graves has brought an energy to this series that's breath taking in a Romance Suspense Mystery. A fast past read that has a grip on you so hard you have to finish the book to the end. But then you want more to read in the series. Go grab a copy and find out what happens .
Great Mystery That Keeps You Guessing Til the End!!!
I love this slow burn Romance! JD & Natalie Team up to get Justice for their Loved ones whom were slayed by the Alpha Killer. Natalie is a Deputy Sheriff & JD was in the Navy 12 years ago. She was getting vengeance for her sister, and he was getting vengeance for his wife.
Hunting a serial killer can be dangerous to everyone a in the family. More than one killer and a vindictive drug lord make the hunt even more dangerous. How do they keep their family safe and still get there man or men
Whew! JD finally gets his happily ever after and it's great! There were a few bumps along the way with Natalie but nothing that couldn't be resolved passionately while battling a twisted serial killer and a vengeful drug cartel in one fell swoop.
In fact, the thrilling ending seemed to wrap up too quickly but at least it conveniently rid the Coopers of the any and all threats against them and set us up to meet the cousins who are Cooper Security. Can't wait!
Part of a series that does not stand very well on its own. There are too many characters and storylines that need the other books in the series in order to care about them. This is the story of multiple murders over multiple times tied into another story of revenge from south of the border.
Very, very, underwhelming for the book I've been waiting for to wrap up this cold case that has been the focus of multiple books about the Cooper family. Feeling let down.
