Griffin Benedict was a cool modern hero. He treated his job as a news reporter, with a sensational story about Raleigh Shinn, seriously but soon realized there was more than meets the eye with the uptight legal counsel.

I loved the way he helped her move on, sometimes not-so-subtlely, from the tragedy of her husband's death and her in-laws horrific treatment to realize there definitely is more to life. It's also one of those stories where the ugly duckling gets the makeover so everyone can see the beauty inside.

The ending was a surprise so top marks to KL for suspense and the action throughout was fun and exciting not to mention dangerous. I also liked the way we saw more of the founder of Project Justice, Daniel the good, and am looking to forward to reading his story in Book 3.

I read my first HQ book at the age of 12. It's a plot line I remember well, even after all these years. Just like that first HQ book, Kara Lennox's book Nothing But The Truth is another HQ I won't forget. The plot is neat and tight writing. Griffin is a great leading man. I didn't like him at first because of his profession (as a one-time journalism major in college, news media irritation made me a bit biased against), however Lennox pulled me out of that mind-set quickly. Griffin turns out to have more interest in writing a well-balanced story than his arch enemy newscaster, who was a real slime ball. Loved seeing the polar opposites in respect to news media.

Raleigh, love the name, was an interesting character, a bit timid outside, but strong inside. I liked her character because of who she worked for and why she did the work she loves. I loved the premise of working to save the underdogs. I also loved the secondary characters and would love to read Raleigh's boss's romance. (I'm totally lousy with names and the book's not in reach, her boss is an intriguing character and wounded. LOVE wounded heroes). I enjoyed Raleigh's chemistry with Griffin. The tug and pull between them was skillfully written. This book is nominated for RWA's (Romance Writers of American) 2012 RITA award, and it's a well-deserved nomination.

I'm an extremely picky reader, and I rarely review the books of other authors as readers might interpret my review as doing it for a friend. I don't know Kara Lennox personally, and if I review a book it's because I really enjoyed the read. This is a book I've been recommending to my author friends and reader friends who love a good read. Nothing But the Truth is a strong, well-written book that won't disappoint.
