She gives very sound advice without stepping on toes. I like her nutrition breakdown, it sort of combines theories in a way that makes sense. Her strength training is definitely unique, I'm curious to see how it works, but won't be doing her program for a couple of weeks, when I finish my current one. She has a no-nonsense way of explaining things without putting down or being snobbish. It's actually a very short book though because more than half is just explaining her exercises in depth, with tips and adjustments for beginners or advanced. Overall, probably one of the best women's weight loss books I've come across!

This is a straightforward and simple manual to building a stronger body, in exercise sets that really are only 15 minutes a day. You need a small dumbell set, a chair, and maybe an exercise ball- it's very do-at-home friendly. The author explains how to find the appropriate weight to work with for your level, and the routines are easy to remember (I read this book in high school and still remember the patterns 8 years later). I do wish she suggested how to do the bodyweight exercises with weights; without overload, those exercises stop being very effective.

Actually I still use it. The workouts are fun and challenging. And all data included is given in clear, no-nonsense way. Very handy if You're fighting with Your body, lol. Especially if You're time-restricted.

As a current student of Wini's, I read this for fun to see what she was like in the past. She doesn't recommend this but there's a lot of good stuff in here :) I'll be sticking to the workouts on her site, but if you come across this book maybe it'll inspire you to seek out her current work!

I've needed to add strength training to my workout regime for YEARS and I'm finally doing it! I really like what this book has to offer. The exercises seem simple and quick. Can't wait to go buy my "grown-up bouncy ball" and give them a try!

I read it, but I don't think its fair to rate it until I actually complete the 6 week program, and I don't know when that will be.

why are strength training books for women so stupid? There are some good exercises but the whole thing is pretty dumbed down.
