Tricked, the second book in the Witches of Santa Anna series....

Natalia Moore is the new girl at Santa Anna Prep, and all she wants to do is fly under the radar -- get to her classes, meet a few friends, and try not to make a total fool of herself in the meantime. But when handsome and popular Campbell Elliot goes out of his way to be nice to the new girl, Natalia's plan to go unnoticed flies out the window.

Cam's hot, but he's completely off-limits. Raine Marsden, the most popular and meanest girl in school, has had her eye on him ever since the summer. And Raine doesn't like competition.

When Cam goes as far as inviting Natalia to the exclusive weekend party at Raine's house, Raine sets her sights on a new victim. But what Natalia doesn't know is that Raine and her friends are no ordinary mean girls. They have powers most people can only dream of, and nobody will stand in the way of what they want. And what Raine wants is Campbell.

Tricked is the second book in The Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas, a series that proves just how far true love will go and that nothing--not even pure evil--can change your destiny.

Got to the last page and my words were "oh"!!! I didn't expect it to finish like that... This is the second book of Natalia and Cam, Brody and Raine and other characters, both books have carried on without a breath between and although they are short, I am becoming hooked...

...I feel like I am watching a soap playing out but I haven't quite got to the 'juicy' bits yet... and I have a feeling there will be one or two juicy bits to come...

I am enjoying these!

When we ended Book #1 Claimed with Cam waking up after being passed out on the lawn and Natalia seeing the butterflies, the pair end up going their separate ways and Brody asks Natalia out for brunch. She invites Cam who brings Raine along and the four head out to get something to eat. During the meal though things seem to get heated between Cam and Brody as something odd is happening and Natalia seems to be the cause of it as Brody told Cam, he shouldn't date her and now he's with her - something isn't adding up. Meanwhile, also at the diner, we meet Derek who was Natalia's ex- the one who caused her misery at her old school and now he wants to talk, but she's not interested. The book then jumps to high school and it seems that Cam is out and Brody is in but which one still really holds Natalia's heart.
Each book is a quick novella read and ends on cliffhanger moments.

Okay, I *think* I'm not disappointed that I'm continuing with this series, but I'm not sure yet --- they're all so short, but at the same time I think this installment did leave me a little more curious to keep reading so that I can figure out why all these loopy teenagers are being so mysterious. (Although, from the title, I'm guessing that yes, they're witches -- but nothing suggests that so far!)

So, in the last story we met Natalia, the girl who left Emily (from the PARTY series) all alone at her old school in order to move to a creepy private school. We also met Cam, the guy who (semi-obsessively) wants to be with Natalia, Raine (the bimbo ex-girlfriend), and in TRICKED we are introduced to Derek, a guy who seems to always show up at just the wrong time and who is allegedly Natalia's creepy (and again, semi-stalkerish) ex-boyfriend from her old school.

What we know so far is that Cam's best friend Brody is threatening Cam to prevent him from dating Natalia, but somehow Brody is now either pretending or attempting to be with Natalia. Raine may or may not stalking both Cam and Natalia, and Derek may or may not be a stalker too. Basically, I have no idea.

Since I'm clueless, I have to keep reading, right?

Oh, and P.S. this author seems to have a few trends here that she enjoys:
1. Swapping perspectives from male to female, which is interesting, but at the same time they both somehow remain clueless enough that it keeps the reader clueless. Good or bad? Don't know yet.
2. It seems that every character in every book I've read by Barnholdt so far seems blissfully unaware that a male and female can be friends without hooking up. It's possible!!
3. What's up with all these irresponsible parents who just turn a blind eye to teenage drunkenness? Wow!

Moving on to book 3...

I liked this book better than the first one but it, like the first book, is entirely too short 😕😕😕

Review: in the second book things are continuing Natalia is hanging out with Brody and they all go to brunch Raine ,Cam And Brody well things don't go well and Raine is acting strange Natalia sees a guy from her old school she didn't want to see and cam and Natalia kiss and he tells her how he feels things don't go to well and end on an Icy note.

This is the second instalment of "The Witches of Santa Anna" series, like the first one it was again very short, and took almost no time at all to get through!

This book however delved a bit deeper into the the story and gave hints at what was truly going on, but without giving it all away! Which i love from books, especially those in a series!
It left me dying to read the next book in the series!

i really liked this book, i think that it was better than the first one but still very short.
i really want to see natalia and cam get together and i really don't like raine.
i loved that at the end cam and natalia are kinda getting their act together but i still think that its going to be a while before anything real happens between them.
i think this series is going to get better as they go on but i really wish they were a little longer.

"Tricked" The Witches of Santa Anna Book 2 is another interesting read. This book had a lot more suspense than the first book as I was waiting for Natalia and Cam to get together but with girls like Ranie - they don't stand a chance. I enjoyed this story that much I went straight ahead and started Book 3 straight away.

I like how the tension continues to build between Natalia and Cam. Raine is none to pleased and it begins to show. You start to see where Brody becomes the wedge meant to be driven between Cam and Natalia for the sake of Raine and it is annoying. It is nice when the protagonist is not the one who has the special abilities too.

Even though all these stories are super short, they are actually pretty good and really make you want to read the next one. They are great if you don't have a lot of time to read something long and just want something short to read.

there is nothing wrong with the series, execpt that it's the witches of santa anna and so far no witches. The books are nice easy teenage fiction. The worst part is, the end of each book so far is in a really bizarre place. I would recommend them though for people who like teenage fiction.

Second book of the Witches of Santa Anna series. Another short story that leave you wanting to read the next book to see what will happen.

Another incredibly short read. The books are more like chapters so the plot barely progresses before the book ends.
