Great book for pilots and Wannabees

Collins writing is like your favorite uncle sharing stories with you. He writes in a way that makes it like he is speaking to you so that his words sink in. He is topical, educational, interesting ,and as a result, something happens to improve your aviation knowledge and desire to fly

Not for the layman, but possibly too elementary for commercial pilots. Richard Collins writes with the wisdom of experience, and his illustrative anecdotes actually work really well as teaching aids. A+ reality check for general aviation pilots.

This is a short and sweet review of Collins' personal flying anecdotes and his thoughtful analysis of accident reports from over the years. There's a lot of good advice in here for pilots, both new and experienced.

In aviation you are just as good as your performance in the next hour is. Your experience helps, but the fate has a way of throwing a spanner in the works at the most unexpected times.

This book tells you how to remain aware of your limitations and stay on top of the situation.
