It takes two to toy with love.

When librarian Alisa Mane s boyfriend accuses her of being frigid, she sets out to prove him wrong the only way she knows how with research.

A visit to the local sex shop uncovers the sizzling sensuality locked beneath her cool facade, and she eagerly accepts the opportunity to test sex toys for SoloPlay Enterprises. Under the code name Sologirl, she begins exploring her body on her own terms. After all, no one was ever rejected by a vibrator.

Mark Winters needs his new DoublePlay line of toys to hit big, and there s only one tester for the job Sologirl. She fires his imagination with playfully erotic reviews and never fails to pick a winner. There s only one problem Sologirl refuses to test the DoublePlay toys for couples. With his company s success on the line, he decides to make his offer again, up close and in person.

One look at the icy hot Mark and Alisa realizes he s her best chance to discover if any man can satisfy her. A red-hot month of experimentation more than answers that question, but now Alisa has another problem DoublePlay is almost ready for production and her feelings for Mark have nothing to do with business. Is she brave enough to continue playing with her heart?

Warning: This book contains a sexy librarian, an icy hot businessman, scandalous emails, scorching male/female and female/female play time, and vibrating, well everything.

Hot premise but turned into a mess of ethical and consent issues. By the end, I wanted Alisa to take everything she’d learned and her adventurous spirit and find someone else. Also maybe explore if she’s queer, instead of deferring to sensual psychic Crystal’s assertion that Alisa is straight and needed to find a man, even though the two women hooked up for a month. Mark’s view of Alisa was very Not Like Other Girls and I did not like that he would call her Sologirl (her review username) in conversation (including the first time he told he loved her!), although that was the least of the ways he did her wrong.

Character notes: Alisa is a white librarian. Mark is a 32 year old white sex toy company owner.

CW: heroine finds out her boyfriend was married, sensual psychic reads heroine without consent, sensual psychic repeatedly violates peoples’ privacy and reveals confidential information including the heroine’s name and where she works, biphobia, hyperbolic slang around suicide, toxic mother, gender essentialist language (), ableist language

This was a surprisingly refreshing erotic read. It had a lot of elements I have never read before. It was sexy, humorous, and I enjoyed the supporting characters enough that I'm definitely going to check out the other two books in the series.

Hot hot cover! Rated the book 4 stars out of 5 🌌🌌🌌🌌. Thought the story was so creative and hot. There is some lesbian play in the story and lots and lots of sex toy playing 😰😳😍😄. The story starts with a librarian trying to find herself sexually and then agreeing to review sex toys for a company. Her reviews are so saucy and hot that the founder of the company goes looking for her. Absolutely funny and hot!.... I feel like you must read if your looking for a hot new story to read. I definitely recommend! #mirandabaker #hotlibrarian #sextoyfounder #lesbianplay #romancebookreaders #romancebook #romancenovels #romancebooklovers #romancebookclub #romancebookaddict #romancebookreaders #hotbooks #bookonkindleunlimited

Vibes
- Fine

When the sex is good, the red flags look pink.
While I did enjoy this there were some glaringly obvious issues with it. First of all the sex psychic read her without her consent and then after coming to the conclusion that our FMC (Alisa) is “straight” still pursues her. They even hook up for a while at the start or this book so how straight is she really. In my opinion she’s bi or pan since she hooks up with a woman and a man. Then there’s Mark who has the emotional range of a wet dish rag. Alisa reviews sex toys for his company, she uses a pseudonym “sologirl” in her reviews to protect her identity. He asks her to review couple toys and after she turns him down, he tracks her down and basically accosts her in her place of work. Which is illegal and it’s mentioned that what he did was wrong but he faces no consequences. Even when they start hooking up he only refers to her by her pseudonym I get their physical attraction to each other but there was zero emotional connection other than what they experienced when “product testing”. They know what gets each other off but nothing about who the other is as a person. The smut was hot and fun but as a romance I didn’t buy it. I kinda wish she’d taken what she’d learned and found someone new.

OK before we begin let’s make one thing clear and give you the lowdown on this erotic little story. It has sex-toys, it has sex in pretty much every position I’ve heard of (and one I most definitely have not! Apparently, it’s possible...although I would like to see a sketch of what goes where!), it has the dreaded buttsex, some lesbian action, some very naughty language and a whole host of other kinkiness. If you like your sex as a side dish to your romance, step back, because the sex in this one is definitely the main course. If you like your erotica steamy, kinky and sex laden, then this one is a major possibility for you.

So where were we? Well we begin the book with the lovely Alisa having, what sounds like, the worst sex I’ve ever read in an erotic novel. No, thankfully, it’s not with the HEA Mark, but with her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend Eric. Mr Floppy appears, and Eric decides he couldn’t keep it up because she’s frigid (I hate this term!). Alisa is understandably upset and decides that , as she has never had an orgasm, she’s going to stop dating scumbag males, and take matters into her own hands. So after finishing work at the library (I know...it’s a cliché but work with us) she goes to Come Again, the best name I’ve ever heard for a sex shop :D Here she meets shop assistant, and sexual psychic, Crystal, for whom she immediately gets the hots. Turns out Crystal likes the ladies, and is more than happy to lend Alisa a hand in her quest for the big “O”. They have a brief but satisfying affair in which Crystal helps her find her hidden sexuality, teaches her to communicate what it is she wants in bed, introduces her to a whole host of sex toys and turns Alisa into a bit of a sex junkie. Crystal ends things, because neither of them can get what they want out of their fling: a Happy Ever After. To stop sex-junkie Alisa jumping back onto the loser boyfriend train, Crystal points her in the direction of Soloplay, who are looking for new beta testers. As a beta tester, Alisa gets to test out a whole host of weird and wonderful self masturbation toys (including the Body-Vibe...which sounds amazing) in exchange for a frank review and a pay check. Reading these reviews, and getting a minor obsession with Alisa’s onscreen identity sologirl, is Mark, who owns Soloplay. They have a flirty banter going on via email, and he realises, whilst he knows everything about her sexually, he knows nothing about the woman on the other end of the email. He also recognises that Alisa can pick a winning product and, in the most bizarre cost cutting exercise, decides he only wants her, and her partner, to test the next line of products for doubleplay, sextoys to be used with a partner. She refuses him, via email, because she has no partner and wants to remain single. So, he breaches several privacy laws, and tracks her down at the library. Alisa is shocked that the tall, blonde Daniel Craig look-a-like, that turns up asking for sologirl is the Mark she has been flirting with via email. She agrees to be the double-play beta tester, but only if Mark is her partner for the duration of the assignment. He agrees, mainly because she is blatantly kinky and looks like Barbie, even if he has some niggling doubts about conflict of interests. What happens after this is lots and lots of sex with lots and lots of toys. We have vibrators, butt plugs, cock-rings, a jungle gym (another thing I would have liked a diagram for!) and a bondage harness. We also have one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read involving a restaurant, the full body vibe and a sexy man with the remote that controls all the vibrators.....I swear I’ll read this book again purely for that scene! Question is, will there be anything between them after the sex-toys have run out?

I liked this book, I just felt the balance was a little off. What little we were told about the characters (and I didn’t expect a lot anyway), felt like it was jammed into the minute amount of paragraphs between the sex. The characters were likeable enough, so it wasn’t too much of a problem. The sex scenes were damn hot too...:D An enjoyable read.

Yes, I'm giving 5 stars to a book featuring a heroine who (in the first few chapters) can't find her clitoris. Don't judge me! It's good fun!

SoloPlay opens with this line: "Alisa hoped the lubricated condom would disguise her lack of arousal as Eric pushed inside her."

The heroine is a timid librarian who can't seem to warm up during sex. It's a cliche taken to the extreme, but the author's writing style grabbed me and I felt a lot of sympathy for the heroine. Eric loses his erection and dumps her, saying "If you have a clit, it's not anywhere I can find. Have you ever had an orgasm?"

She hasn't, the poor girl. I've heard that some women have trouble reaching orgasm without a vibrator, so I went along with this premise. I used to think something was wrong with me because I couldn't have "vaginal" orgasms. Some women never come, period. Oh the humanity!

Alisa decides to take matters into her own hands and visits the sex toy shop across the street from her library. At Come Again, she meets Crystal?, an employee and sex psychic. Crystal knows what Alisa needs without asking. She fits her with a butterfly vibrator and sparks fly. Orgasms too. After a short fling, Crystal encourages Alisa to move on. She's all sexed up and ready for her Prince Charming.

Marc Winters is the owner of SoloPlay Enterprises. He's got a new line of sex toys and needs beta testers. Alisa signs up for the job and becomes "Sologirl." He loves her product reviews so much that he approaches her in person to try out his DoublePlay toys for couples. This is totally against the rules but he can't resist. They begin a whirlwind affair involving remote-control panties and vibrating cockrings. So romantic!

Alisa and Marc have great chemistry. He's dedicated his life to female pleasure and he's read her detailed masturbation accounts, so he has the tools to satisfy her. He tells himself it's just business--and he's married to his work. She's never learned how to communicate her emotions with a partner. When they run out of toys to play with, will the relationship fizzle?

I liked pretty much everything about this story. The focus is on Alisa's pleasure, her body and her sexual transformation. It's very heroine-centric and vagina-friendly. The sex is erotic and well-described, with inventive use of props. There is a lot of hand washing and toy washing. I can't tell you how much my OCD appreciates this. Clean, dirty sex! Yes. Although most of the interactions between the hero and heroine are sexual, I was sold on the romance.

Very nicely done. Fun, sexy, polished.

My review is posted on Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/new-r...

Alisa Mane knows there’s more to sex than the unfulfilling experiences she’s always had. When her latest boyfriend accuses her of being frigid, Alisa decides that some self discovery is needed. Her trip to the adult store, Come Again, unearths a world of pleasure for Alisa. It also leads to her being hired to anonymously test sex toys for SoloPlay Enterprises.

Mark Winters, SoloPlay’s owner, needs to find a tester for DoublePlay, his new line of sex toys for couples. He can’t seem to get the reviews for one of the SoloPlay’s testers out of his head. Bending company policy more than a little bit, Mark tracks down the tester in question – Alisa. The only problem is, Alisa doesn’t want to test the DoublePlay line. But the attraction between Mark and Alisa instantly ignites and Alisa changes her tune. She’ll test the DoublePlay line…if Mark is the one who tests them with her.

An erotic month of experimentation may be good fun, but what happens when the testing is done. Will Mark and Alisa go their separate ways, or will their time together turn into something more than simple sexual bliss?

SoloPlay is a red-hot journey of sexual awakening with a liberal splash of romance. While the love that develops between Mark and Alisa is undoubtedly part of the story, what captured my attention was Alisa’s journey of personal growth. I loved watching her confidence build and Miranda Baker beautifully showed Alisa becoming her own woman over the course of SoloPlay. That doesn’t mean that Mark isn’t dreamy, however, because he definitely is. The sensuality of SoloPlay is off the charts and it’s easy to see how compatible Mark and Alisa are.

SoloPlay is the second book in Ms. Baker’s Come Again series, but as the protagonists from the first story (Bottoms Up) don’t appear, it’s safe to say SoloPlay stands on its own. Still, I enjoyed meeting the salespeople of Come Again so much that I will definitely be reading Bottoms Up. What’s more, I desperately hope Ms. Baker has more Come Again stories planned, particularly if sensual psychic Crystal finds love. While Alisa and Mark are the heart of SoloPlay, Crystal steals every scene she’s in.

With its likeable characters, erotic exploration, and a lovely ending, SoloPlay is a delightfully naughty read that will surely satisfy readers.

A nice librarian, Alisa Mane, is dating a guy named Eric. He doesn't do it for her in the bedroom. Eric has the gall to tell her she is frigid. As a librarian, it seems natural to do some research... :) This is where her sexual adventure starts! She learns a few things from another woman and then on her own. She knows her body and how to get off...ehm, on her own! When she thinks that she's ready to test her new found sexual skills, Mark Winters contacts her. He'd like her to test his new sex toys (first SoloPlay and then a little later DoublePlay).

"Sologirl" (Alisa) is excited! What could be better than testing new sex toys? She's testing the SoloPlay toys. Afterwards, Mark seeks her out and asks her to test the DoublePlay toys, too. However, there's a little problem: Sologirl doesn't have a boyfriend. Sologirl gives Mark an ultimatum, he either helps her test them or it's a no go flag!

Well, here comes my opinion:
It's a rather fun and entertaining read. However, if you want a good plot AND good sex scenes, this book isn't for you. If it'd be a novella then I definitely agree with only sex scenes but this is another matter altogether. IT IS A BOOK AND NOT A NOVELLA! And in this case I expect a decent plot. To Ms. Baker’s credit, the sex is purposeful because it's part of Alisa's discovering herself, her needs and her sexuality. I get it and I'm all for that. But it's definitely not enough. The two main characters are spending so much time in bed that they couldn't talk enough. There isn't enough interaction. And I'm surprised that Alisa could still walk after all this bed action. *cough* I need more than just great sex in a full length book before I can believe that the hero and heroine are in love. More depth to the story, please!

Alisa Mane has just been dumped by her boyfriend who calls her frigid. Desperate to have an orgasm and understand her body, she goes to Come Again, a sex toy shop. There she meets Crystal, a psychic. For a brief while, Alisa and Crystal have a relationship, but Crystal really is a lesbian, whereas Alisa is not. In walks Mark Winters, a sex toy designer building his company up by looking for toy testers. So begins Alisa's testing of SoloPlay toys as SoloGirl. But when Mark wants to start up DoublePlay, sex toys for couples, he goes after Alisa for more than just testing data, but will Alisa want a partner to test with, after all she is SoloGirl.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. Some of the sex toys they used are pretty common, and others I wanted to get my hands on! It is a short story and the second in the series. You don't have to read the first one to understand what is going on. Both books (Bottoms Up) stand alone in their own right, but do have cross over characters.

At first I really didn't care for Mark. He seemed very egotistical, thinking he can get laid anytime he wants. Alisa's character was someone a lot of women could relate too. Not knowing who to have an orgasm isn't that uncommon. The author doesn't go into much about the ex-boyfriend, but you find out right away he is married. So that begs the question, was he really her boyfriend? They met at a coffee shop and had sex on her lunch hour? Doesn't make for boyfriend material to me.

I would highly recommend checking this book out for a quick fun afternoon read!

Where can I get a gig like that? Sign me up!! First, the idea of discovering what's truly pleasurable with someone who helps you without judgment (in this case, a woman) sounds like a great idea. Then, becoming a sex toy evaluator and getting PAID to try out toys! And then, when the hot owner of the company approaches you about trying out toys for couples (he doesn't think he'll be the partner), you coerce him into taking you to dinner, and get a few big, fat orgasms out of it... what's not to love? Of course we, the reader, know where it's headed because he was described as the kind of guy who didn't want a relationship. That's a blazing declaration that he's gonna fall hard, lol!

I wanted to smack Mark every time he mentioned business, because it would be just at the time Alisa was feeling it was more than just business and it would push her mind right back into that "work" category. And I wanted to smack Alisa AND Mark for not just saying how they feel! I know it can be scary, and I guess each of them had their reasons for not divulging that important bit of info (each thought the other was using them for similar but different reasons), but when he left after the last toy was evaluated, I felt so bad for Alisa. And then Mark when he made his frankly inappropriate offer, lol.

I'm glad it all worked out in the end, and this was definitely a sizzling story, whether solo, with the girl, or with the guy... very hot. Makes me want to go read #1! :-)

A mild mannered librarian, Alisa Mane is dating a guy that just does not do it for her in the bedroom. The guy has the nerve to tell her she is frigid. Like any good librarian Alisa decides to do some research and she embarks on a sexual adventure of a lifetime. First learning a few things from another woman, then on her own. She knows her body and how to get maximum pleasure. Just as she is ready to test her new found sexual skills Mark Winters approaches her to test his new product "Double Play".

What could be better then testing new sex toys? Testing new sex toys with a drop dead gorgeous hunk of a man called Mark Winters. Alisa gives him an ultimatum, he either helps her test them or it's a no go. The story ensues.

This story is so hot! I couldn't get enough of this page turner. I loved this story because it was so explicit but yet remained to be sensual. Solo Play has everything you could ask for! Ups and downs, humor, conflict and romantic scenes that are hot enough to burn the pages it's written on.

This story is worth reading, it will get you to skip words to get to the next page. This is a must read if you enjoy the sensuality of two females in embrace, fun with toys and a Happily ever after between man and woman.

Well, well, I am giving this book 5 delicious stars. I enjoyed everything about this book. The romantic part, the funny and, of course, the erotica part of it. The heroine, Alisa didn't enjoy sex and her boyfriend broke up with her naked on the bed and saying she was frigid. She sought help in a local sex shop Come Again and with help from a sales assistant, Crystal, she discovered her own sexuality.
In the course of the story Alisa encountered Mark and with him she discovered how to have pleasure with sex and how to use his infinite resources of sex toys.
The sex scenes are extremely hot, dirty but clean at the same time, tasteful. TheySoloPlay are very hygienics, careful and always having safe sex! The book is well written, the characters consistent and you can find a good romance from this extremely erotica novel.

The worst thing a boyfriend can call you is frigid. After dumping him, Alisa Mane decides to indulge in a little sexual experimentation. After visiting an adult toy store and trying out a few items, Alisa becomes a tester for Solo Play’s new line of personal gratification toys. Solo Play developer Mark Winters is launching a new line meant for couples. There is only one tester for him. He will do anything for Alisa to test his new toy line even if he has to be her partner. I like this book. I love that Alisa decides to learn for her self what she likes in bed. She does not need a man but the fun doubles when she gets one!

Here's the thing about erotic romance: For it to be good, it can't just be erotica with the HEA slapped on. To Baker's credit, the sex was purposeful; it was part of the female protagonist discovering herself and taking control of her own sexuality. And I'm all for that. But then just write some good erotica. The two characters here spent so much time in bed that I'm not sure they ever talked. Good sex can make you feel like you've found the one in real life--but as a romance reader, I need a whole lot more than great sex before I'll believe the characters are in love.

Yes, the plot sounds like a hot mess and I probably should have loathed it - but I didn't. Honestly this was a really fun story and a welcome distraction from all the brooding alphahole billionaires who think they are doms overruning erotic romance these days. I also loved that the heroine isn't "fixed" by the hero. She's well on her way to sexual enlightenment even before he enters the picture. Light and fun.

I bought this book from Books On Board.

Good story of woman discovering her sexuality with vibrators and other sex toys, instead of the hero's magic wang. Although the hero certainly does know how to use his wang... Hot sex scenes, some unethical plot convenience behaviour which I found annoying. Overall though, enjoyable.

SoloPlay took me back to an ex I had who was extremely creative using sex toys so I could experience MFM fantasies I wasn't ready to do for real at that point in my life. If the story is a little short (really a novella at 129 pages) and thin, it does its job of delivering 1st Class erotica. Definitely inspirational.

This is the second book I have read by Miranda Baker and she did not disappoint me. If you liek reading about sex toys and lots of fun to be had with them then you would love this book. The first one is my favorite (Bottoms Up, BDSM theme) but this book is great as well.

I love "sologirl" more importantly I love Mark. Even before they actually meet I like the dialogue between them via email.

The story was cute and it was all very sexy even before all the sex actually takes place. I only wish that Mark had an opportunity to at least hit Eric once.
