NAVIGATING THE STORMS, authored by veteran Christian school administrator Dr. Ken Coley, will be your counselor. This is an excellent book for leaders of Christian schools! Coley does a wonderful job of diving into various issues administrators and board members will face and offers a biblical perspective of dealing with these critical issues. Coley does not sugar coat situations, but makes it clear that leadership is not an easy task and not something to enter into lightly. I am not the leader of a Christian school, but I am a leader in my role as an administrator and am learning more every day from the administrators around me and the situations I am encountering. Coley helped me to think seriously about the calling in my life and the responsibility that comes with servant leadership. If this is the route God takes me, this book is a great resource of wisdom and guidance. The decisions will not be easy and the challenges will be many. I cannot do this alone and in and of myself I am incapable of doing it well. If God calls me to be the leader of a Christian school, I can only do it by His power and grace. May God give me the wisdom to follow Him where He leads and to trust in Him as He leads.
