This book discusses what happens when you feel afraid. From the point of view of a girl, she begins by listing reasons why she might feel scared. She then discusses methods of coping when she feels afraid. She lists people she turns to for help, as well as methods of individually dealing with this emotion. The end of the book is geared towards adults. It lists ways to support children when they are feeling scared. It also provides additional resources for adults.
These books are wonderful for sharing with preschoolers. One of my favorite socio-emotional nonfiction series. The topics are extremely relevant to the audience and they are explored in a clear, developmentally appropriate way that invites conversation. This one in particular can apply to a wide range of tricky situations, from natural disasters to family problems to being scared of the dark. Highly recommended for ages 3-6.
