Bargain (ex-library copy shipped from the US) - this is a solid introduction to the topic with a nod to contemporary links such as Miller's play, McCarthyism, Wiccan and the role of Salem (modern day Danvers) today as a tourist attraction. Written for schools, nevertheless, this is relatively well research and, what's more, objective in its depiction of both afflicted and accused, unlike Marion Starkey's somewhat histrionic tome. Thus, Abigail is not 'rosy-cheeked', nor is Proctor 'honest', which, to the more serious historian, is infinitely preferable. Overall, a quick read (about an hour) and appropriately illustrated and well worth the two-week wait.

This book gives you info on the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. It also compares the witch hunt of then and the communists of the 20th century.

Very detailed, did not seem to be biased to either side. Lots of interesting information about how Salem celebrates their heritage today.

The book I read was The Salem Witch Trials by Lori Lee Wilson. The book genre is nonfiction. The setting is in Massachusetts during the 1600's. There really wasn't any main characters other than all the magistrates that they talked about throughout the entire story. The book is about all the boys and girls that were accused of witchcraft and supposedly serving the devil. I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars because it was very very good, but some of the words were difficult to pronounce and I didn't know what some words meant. But I am very interested in the Salem witch trials so this was a really awesome book to read.
